Game Thread: Penguins GNT/GDT week 3 (Oct 19 - Oct 25)

Pens are coming off a 2-1 week, with wins against the Ottawa Senators & Toronto Maple Leafs, and a loss to the Montreal Canadiens. Offense has been very sluggish, but MAF has been outstanding. Geno has been heating up the past couple games and Daniel Sprong has also provided a spark. We need Sid & Kessel to start scoring, hopefully that starts this week.

Tuesday, October 20th vs Florida Panthers

Thursday, October 22nd vs Dallas Stars

Saturday, October 24th @Nashville Predators

Jagr will probably have at least 3 points against us tonight. Last I checked, he had more goals by himself than we do as a team.

I am feeling downright optimistic and say the Pens start rolling this week and win em all! I will go so far as to say Skid gets 1 goal and an assist tonight!

Now it could be that I am still not awake with enough coffee and signed into work to see the shitstorm that has hit...and I am over the Cards early exit from the MLB post season!

Sprong was deported because of a work visa problem. He won't be playing tonight. Kunitz replaced Hornqvist on the top power play, and according to Josh Yohe, Boat Anchor Bob Scuderi will be playing tonight over Clendening.

And now we get punching bag Farnham active for the game due to Sprongs visa issues.

As for not playing Clendenning is mind blowing. Yeah his only game he wasn't great but he has something that Lovejoy, Scuderi and could argue Doumolin can't and that is offensive skill. Worst case start rotating him with Lovejoy and Scuderi.

Malkin now at three in a row, and two game winners. Glad to see Sid finally get on the score sheet. He had a monster game.

The last few games, Sid's been making a lot of very Sid-like plays. They just weren't quite connecting. Last night, they finally did, hopefully a sign of things to come.

Kunitz still looks out of place on that line, though. I don't know who else you'd put there, but he's got to find his way to contribute, since it won't be with speed or skill.

They're talking about breaking up Sid, Geno, & Kessel to create 3 deep scoring lines.

I really have no opinion on this to tell you the truth, but IDK if Kessel came here to play on the 3rd line.
