Seriously, you know things are bad when Rob Scuderi looks like one of your best offensive players :L

Tonights lineup - still not sure why Clendenning sits, they need ANY offensive spark so sitting Lovejoy, Dumoulin or Scuderi for Clendenning would make sense.

Chris Kunitz - Sidney Crosby - Phil Kessel
David Perron - Evgeni Malkin - Patric Hornqvist
Sergei Plotnikov - Nick Bonino - Daniel Sprong
Bobby Farnham - Matt Cullen - Kevin Porter

Ian Cole - Kris Letang
Olli Maatta - Ben Lovejoy
Brian Dumoulin - Rob Scuderi

Marc-Andre Fleury
Jeff Zatkoff

Malkin has looked really good defensively since I turned the game on. Looked good on the penalty kill. I like that they're using skill guys in that role now.

And Daniel Sprong is awesome. What a draft pick he looks to have been.

Timing is still just off with the top line, but it looks to be getting closer. They're going to start filling the net soon.

And finally, good to see Clendenning getting a look.

Pretty complete hockey game from the Pens from what I saw. Once the top two lines start clicking together, they're going to be tough to beat. The system is pretty tight, they're just not quite synchronized offensively.

Yeah, haven't seen them shut it down like that in a while.

Malkin's line was terrific, Sid's line was ok. Johnston must have thought the same since Sid's like wasn't playing very much in the last 5 minutes.

Looks like they found something in Kevin Porter, solid hockey player.

Clendenning played ok, made a lot of good plays, made a few terrible ones. Still rather have him in there than Scuds.

Oh, congrats to Sprong, I think he's going to be sticking around.

Yes...a win...thank God! Although it helps when you play a team going back to back...

I won't put too much stock in it

Glad the Maple Leafs beat the Blue Jackets last night, hopefully they won't be so motivated when they face us tonight, hopefully Kessel will be motivated to play against his former team :hope:

Or Winnik, Spaling and Harrington might be motivated the other way. :)

Scuderi back in the lineup, I honestly don't have a clue what the coaching staff is thinking with him. He's not good at anything, he's not even a good penalty killer. He doesn't even pass the eye test of being anything but terrible.

Scuderi back in makes zero sense.

Now scratching Farnham for Plotnikov would make sense.
Farnham brings nothing except he can take a lot of punches while giving zero.

Nice win by MAF, the only thing going for the Pens this season.

Good news...
Geno seems to be warming up, Sprong looks energetic & aggressive. Tang is moving the puck nicely. MAF has been nothing short of amazing.

Bad news...
Sid & Kuni have been complete non factors this season. Kessel has been next to worthless as well (with the exception of that goal vs the Coyotes). Our power play is also a joke.
