How's it look if you take out Leighton and replace him with Bob?

300k in space instead of 500k.. i just took him out in case, and i think he'd make more progress as the starter in the ahl

unfortunately, since bob has played 60+ games in the nhl he is no longer eligible to be sent to the ahl without first being placed on waivers. in other words, if we send him to the ahl, someones going to pick him up.

although i do think theres a very small window of time in like august or september that we are allowed to send him down without having to worry about waivers, but that would mean hes stuck in the ahl all season since to call him back up he'd have to pass through waivers again.

so pretty much, bobs either staying on the big club or getting traded. i too think that he would benefit from a season in the ahl and being called up if needed cause of injury, but unfortunately this is no longer an option. i think bobs can develop behind bryz just fine getting only 20-25 games a year.

After last playoffs why would we want Boosh back on this team ever again. There has got to be a goalie somewhere in the world that makes 500 K that could stop at least 1 shot because that would be a lot more tha boosh did.

Walker (1.7)

G (2/2)
Bryzgalov (5.667)
Bobrovsky (1.75)
Leighton (1.55)
Backlund (800k)

Total (All): 65.044 mil
Total (After waivers/LTIR): 61.524 mil
Cap: 64.4 mil

Off Season Space: 5.796 mil
In Season Space: 2.876 mil

*Italics means they'll probably be sent to the Phantoms (Walker, Leighton, Backlund) or put on LTIR (Lappy)

** Off-season space is calculated as the allowable 10% over the cap, less all one-way contracts (hence why leighton, backlund, and walker are all listed)

*** Season space is calculated without the italicized names

To-Do
1. Get Simmonds signed. I expect that will take 2 mil.
2. Perhaps sign another winger (Gagne please)

Assuming Simmonds takes 2 mil of the space, and Shelley gets waived in the event that another winger is signed, that salary can be a max of 1.986 cap hit.

Where'd everyone go?

RFA:
Carcillo (signed in Chicago)
Powe (traded to Minnesota)

UFA:
Leino (signed in Buffalo)
O'Donnell (Signed in Chicago)
Boucher (Signed in Carolina)

Trades:
Versteeg to FLA for a 2nd (Phi option of '12 or '13) and 3rd ('12)
Carter to CBJ for Voracek, 8th overall pick (Couturier), 3rd (Cousins)
Richards to LA for Simmonds (rights) and Shenn
Powe to Minnesota for a 3rd ('13 i think)

I think at least one of our centers will play wing for the most part for even strength.

That means, this os more hopeful than anything, we can get Shelley off the books if possible?

And also Walker, hopefully he stays down so theres almost $3 mil extra.

We were the only ones dumb enough to give up a 1. Problem is that he was not worth a top 10 pick. We always pick so low, mid 20's, so not such great value there. Florida has such a high pick that they would not give up a 1 for him. I thought last year that he was a good 3rd line wing to play with Richards. Don't want to pay $3 mill and Richie is gone anyway.
