As promised here is my mock draft . it is in 2 versions, the with KC and the without KC . i know people move up and down the ratings . look at the positions and not so much at the player . and remember its way too early

W/O KC

1) QB Baker Mayfield . i feel like we will be at about 15 to 17 in the draft . i think darnold , Rosen and Jackson will be off the board and i dont mock trades in my drafts I wouldnt trade up anyway because we have done that 3X times before and it has failed . the 6-2 mayfield is the BQBA at this point even if it is a bit high to select him . i cant see Allen , Falk stidham and the others being ready as a year 1 starter

2) OG Will Hernandez 6-3 330lbs he is the highest rated OG in this draft as of this posting . i think he could be starting by mid season with gruden's penchant for vets

3) Arden Tate wr FSU 6-5 225 , nice big tall bookend to go with Dox

4) Kahlil Mckenzie Nt UT 6-3 325lbs we need a NT if Phil taylor cant come back as a stop gap . Put him in the rotation and reduce Hoods snaps . perhaps by year 2-3 he can be a regular in our rotation

5) Rashim Green DE 6-4 275 DE , in my quest to get ziggy hood off the roster here is a very good DE out of USC , he could fit well into our rotation by yr 2 -3

6) Dallas Goedert 6-4 260lb TE south dakota Small school TE who catches the ball well and at 260 lbs can block as well . take a look at this guy in the SR bowl

7) Cole Reyes 6-2 215 S N dakota, pretty good all around safety from a small school . has good range , ball skills and can tackle

W/KC

1) Vita Vea NT 6-5 332 . we need a space eater in the middle and a true NT . i think he will be the BPA for us at a position of need

2) no change from above

3) Zach Allen DE 6-5 285 lbs this is a good DE with size strength and some pass rush . as you can tell with KC means building the LOS

4) Bo Scarborough RB AL , 6-2 228 lbs . with KC i can address RB and pair this guy with Perine and CT and it could be a good stable of RBS

5)no change

6)no change

7) no change

there is my first stab at it

Not too bad @dad, however, I believe that with Chris Baker's release Tampa Bay will take Vea at #7. This is a change from my earlier take in which I said that Oakland will take him at 10, but predictions like mocks change as we get closer to the draft.

I've got a feeling that, this team, if they are able to somehow get a 3rd round pick, will select Lamar Jackson in the 4th round if he's there. Now before anyone goes into, that's wishful thinking Sty, here's my actual reasoning on the subject. Colt McCoy, admittedly, never a favorite of mine is now 31 years old, despite what Gruden thinks of him, I believe that even Bruce has learned that there must be better thinking and attention geared towards the position and will select another QB in this draft. People are going to hate and love this pick, but IMO, Jackson sitting behind and learning the game behind Smith would be a smart move.
if jacskon lasted that far down i would snatch him up and join the ebb5 bandwagon and eat that crow

Yeah me too! In fact I'm predicting right now that Jackson will have a pretty good and better career than almost all of the others, if he's not converted to another position.

as promised my 2018 post combine mock

1) payne , i dont think vea will be there but the 6-2 319lb payne will help solve our d/line issue

2) DJ Chark , wr 6-2 196lbs . 4.34 speed . just what we need, a young burner , his combine and SR bowl show he can play . i wanted OG here but wynn might not fall and price is out 4 months . this addresses a need

4) greg stroman VT , CB 5-11 182 , can help with the return game but this guy covers his man like a blanket and at this spot he is good value . we didnt have a 3rd to address the RB need but this is the best i can make do with

5) Troy Apke , S 6-2 198 lbs 4.38 40 at the combine . he is under the radar but he has some good measurable s to take a shot at developing . could give us excellent range at FS

6) bradley bozeman C/G 6-5 314lbs . could be a great find here . very good center who can play OG . could back up roullier if long is let go

7) mike white qb 6-4 224lbs , above avg arm , not really a mobile guy but he has a good grasp of the mental side of the game . if you saw the sr bowl you know he is good at looking off defenders and the mayock interview is a must see for his knowledge of defenses . other then the arm he isnt an athletic guy

7) Bo Scarborough , 6-2 228 lbs , the knock is he runs way too upright but he could be a workhorse RB , i really think the skins sign crowell in FA but this guy is worth a pick late , maybe he can be developed

these guys are in the projected draft positions according to rotoworld / walter . so itried to stay true to the rankings

I like it but I think Vea will be there at #13. The Raiders just signed back their NT to a decent deal. So Vea should drop. IF we don't get any WR in FA then yes Im on board with the DJ Chark pick. If Robinson, Richardson, or Gabirel are signed then no.

Was Penny available in the 4th round when we picked?

I would be shocked if Michel is there when we pick in the 2nd round.

A top five pick falling to 17 is a shock.

A top five RB lasting to pick 13 of the second...not surprising.
