a goddamn 50. Struck the ball really well...maybe too well. Out drove a fairway with my five wood, under a tree, punch out and the ball hits the only low hanging branch and drops straight down. Same hole, under another tree, 90 yds out I do a pitch with a seven iron, over the green by 10 yds..a nice snowman. This shit continued on damn near every hole.

A bad score when you're hitting badly is easy to accept, when you're making good contact and driving the ball well, it's hard to take.

Finally got my push cart in the other day and took it out and walked 18. Good morning for it too. Made pretty good time compared to riding the cart. I also found it easier to locate the ball when I missed the fairway and saved 20 bucks on a cart fee.

Only issue is my fuckin feet! These old footjoy golf cleats aren’t going to cut it. Do ASICS make golf shoes? Lol.

Anyway. Was in the 90’s would do better if I could sink the ball in less than 3 putts. Shot of the day was a 220 yard par 3. Got there with a 4 iron and birdied it with a 10 yard breaking putt. The rest of my short game was crap.

Heat & humidity off the charts so we're teeing off at 7am.

I feel you and I agree on decent ball striking days thrown away. Those are the days when you want that other 9 to try to get the stink off. Kinda like my Saturday round...46 front, just all over the place...42 back was better, but hit a couple sideways...approaches no less.

Home course today for another 18...hope to get it all in with the afternoon T'storms looming they say.

It was another hot and humid day yesterday. Shot a 41...if i hadn't double bogied the par 3 7th, I had a chance to break 40, I rarely ever do that. Turned the corner, still golfing well, but the glute pain returned and it was painful just walking, much less swinging the club. After 13, we turned down 18 instead of doing the entire back nine.

Really rained today, have a 1:48 tee time, we'll see how things go, hopefully the glute holds out.

Well boys, I finally put a very solid round together and scored my new course record 75 yesterday morning.

Bogeyed the first three and then played the rest of the course +2. Double bogeyed 8 to come off the front at +5 and then shot even on the back with two birds and two more bogeys. Closed with pars on 16,17,& 18. Phil said I was "possessed!"

I made about 5 or 6 putts that were tricky, speedy and broke hard. That's always the difference isn't it?

...oh, and I have an official GHIN handicap for the first time in my life. Started at 8.9 and the 75 I entered yesterday dropped it to a strait 8.0.

I'm basically satisfied with that but I at least want to get it under 8.

Congrats! I sensed something like that coming from you.

My career low is 77 now 3 years ago....that also coincided with my career low index...8.7.

Seems like a long time ago...one good thing...getting new hours at work that will allow me to get in 9 to 18 after work...better than most I know, but that once a week tee time is just tough to keep a swing grooved.

Um, did I really type "strait?" Cripes.

That's great you'll get out more. I've played pretty much once a week until this year and as I've mentioned in other threads in the past, I've always been streaky. Hoping to steady out with this new commitment. Funny thing is that when I've played horribly, it's always with Phil and he's seen me suck plenty of times. On about a half dozen occasions now when I wanted to impress or win a match, I've played well. I know that's just chance and it's bound to turn around!

Too fuckin' hot for golf today...I'm heading out to my stream and sitting in the water & shade~

Unless you just have a grooved swing, getting everything clicking at the same time I've found is the big challenge for a once a week golfer. Short game tight, tee ball is loose...or hit it well and have 3 or 4 three putt greens, and a couple of botched chips.

Yeah...I've been playing with these guys for 2 yrs now and they have revived my interest in golf to some degree...85 used to be a good round I was content with and it would beat my long time golf buddy, heck 89 was good enough to beat him 99% of the time. Golf was about getting out of the house, have a cigar and some beers for him...the score mattered for about 15 mins after the round.

These two guys...85 might get lapped by a few strokes or 5 or 6, and anything above 89 is a such bad round they might hit the range right after the round...lol. Competitive as heck, but they have a good time too.

Weather...that's a sore subject for me from mid June til Labor Day. To get our $17 Players Club rate we have to go off after 11...so it's 90 degs with 96 to 100 heat index before we even make the turn on the worse days. Hard to concentrate for 18 holes in that shit. But they face they same thing too so I can't complain, but Mar to early Jun and mid Sept to mid Nov are the best times to play here from a weather standpoint.

My home course round Sunday was 44-43. One shot better than I did at the Frog, but it felt worse I guess because it lost money and it was my home course. Holes I normally have my way with, I didn't. Rain clouds followed us all day, and I know we were rushing on the front to try to get it in...it sprinkled a few times, but we did get it all in.

I think Asics makes a few golf models...actually I know they do. New Balance golf shoes are comfy...the best for my feet seems to be Adidas 360 and most of the Eccos.

I have a pair of Adidas that look like skater shoes and I really like them. Super comfy. I looked at Asics though since I have flat feet and always liked their running shoes. Not sure what to go with once the spikes on my Adidas are worn down.

I suck.

That is all.

Most of us do...relative to par at least, but we have that 1 or 2 rounds out of 15 or 20 that give us hope. lol

Crazy game...probably the only sport or game that we can be so bad, yet can't wait to tee it up again!

I bought the Adidas 360’s yesterday. Let’s see how comfy they are this weekend

I kind of like these, especially at the price...
