I'm willing to bet the Caps get bounced in the 1st round of the playoffs. They haven't played meaningful hockey since like January. Not playing meaningfully or not playing at all seem to take away the fighting spirit of hockey teams (see: 2013 Eastern Conference Finals).

The call on Daley to end that last powerplay was pretty weak. It was a completely 50/50 battle, and Daley actually got the puck first with his stick. They shouldn't have called either player for a penalty, but they picked Daley probably because the Pens were on the powerplay, and that's kind of ridiculous. They called it a hold, but they were leaning on each other with their shoulders. The free hand wasn't involved.

But that Ovechkin dive was pretty embarrassing on the Letang cross check. I'm actually okay with embellishing actual penalties a little bit, hooks and holds and trips and the like, because the refs left to their own devices miss so many of them, but that's a little too far.

Connor Sheary just dominated the Capitals. He got boarded twice with no call, but never lost the puck. Almost scored, too.

The last two Pens' powerplays have looked great, but no goals. Holtby with a couple sparklers to deny them.

And Johansen rips one past Murray to pull the Caps within one. That was a pretty slick move to drag the puck around Cullen to get the shot off. The defensive coverage was there, just a better play by Johansen.
