Sid trails Jamie Benn by 3 points for 2nd in scoring. Both got 1 game left, Benn vs Predators, Sid @ Flyers. Unlikely that Sid passes Benn, but you never know :hope:

Doubt it will happen. I wonder if it is even worth him playing?
Next year if all stays pretty much the same I fully expect either him or Malkin to hit triple digits again in pts.

Now unfortunately this won't happen due to contract reasons but that last game I would love to see them bring up Kostopoulos for one last NHL game for the Penguins.

That's an interesting dilemma...

On one hand, we're red hot right now & it would be sweet to ride into the playoffs on a 9 game win streak.

On the other hand, probably makes sense to give some players rest for the last game of the season against the Flyers (whose players have shown to get butthurt when losing to us).

Only problem is that there are so many players that have been key to our success, how do we decide who to scratch?

Yeah it is. Honestly I was thinking only Crosby and Letang since they are the most brittle and the most valuable at the same time.

With that said I am glad Sestito is up because you know the Thuggery will be out in full force that last game, especially if the Flyers are eliminated from the playoffs. If not and they are playing for their lives then it might be a really good game.

^ Oh wait the Flyers can't be eliminated saturday, prior to the game. If both Boston and Detroit win on saturday, prior to the Pens/Flyers game, they will be 3 pts up on the Flyers.

But if the Penguins are up 5-1 late in the third (in that above scenerio) you know it will all come out.

With a win, we sweep the season series & possibly knock them out of playoff contention. Would show that they're no longer in our heads like they have been the past 4 years or so.

Doubt if we'll win today. Pens really got nothing to play for while the Flyers are fighting for their playoff lives. We'll probably start Jeff Zatkoff in net today, maybe even Tristan Jarry.

We'll make a deal with the Flyers. We agree to let them win, they agree to no rough stuff.

I play the normal 4 lines but invert their playing time and lines they play against.

Good idea. At first I didn't realize the Flyers still had a chance if the Wings and Bruins won. Anyway yeah I would play the first period as normal with the goal to end the Flyer season.
But then there is the other side of this also that the Flyers would be the worst 1st round match up for the Capitals (in the sense for the Caps). I truly think if they get in they take the capitals to 7 games unlike the Wings or Bruins.

Just get this game over with, obvious that the Pens have no intention of winning this game.

So now we wait to see if we play against the Islanders or Rangers in the 1st round. Odds are that it'll be against the Islanders; they need 3 points in their final 2 games to pass the Rangers in the standings. I think the Isles will likely beat the Sabres tonight & the the Flyers tomorrow.

Flyers lead the Islanders 5-2 late in the 3rd, looks like we'll be going up against the Rangers in the 1st round.
