Game Thread: Penguins GNT/GDT week 27 (Apr 4th - Apr 11th)

Hopefully he'll be ready to go. I really want to beat New York, which ever NY team that ends up being. I'd like to have a go at the Rangers though.

Aside: Is the hoop doing the NHL Bracket Challenge thing?

Both NY teams had gutsy wins last night. Rangers came back from 2-0 to beat the Lightning 3-2, and the Islanders came back from 3-1 to beat the Capitals 4-3 in overtime. We should have a better idea of who our 1st round opponent will be on Thursday night, when the Islanders & Rangers face off at MSG.

WOW! Another great come from behind win for the Pens. They just come harder when they get behind. The Pens have to be very scary for whoever they face in the first round of the playoffs. You can't let up on them for even 1 second when you have a lead over them.

Kind of rooting for the Wings to not make the playoffs this year. If their streak is snapped, then we'll have the longest active streak of making the playoffs

BTW, the most underrated Penguin has for sure been Carl Hagelin, what an added dimension he's brought to this team. Love it when we ice the puck & he beats the other team to the puck. I believe that's how we scored the game winning goal in game 7 of the 2009 SCF.

We've been slow for a while, even in 2013 when we assembled that super team. I haven't seen the Pens out skate opponents night in night out like this since 2001.

Well the crazy part about that game for me is that I didn't even see the first period and a half. I went to see the then-new Star Trek movie at Loews Theater at the Waterfront. We had to hurry back down to Brentwood to catch the last half of the the game, and it was the craziest few hours of my sports life.
