Of this list, he's the only one without a Cup and he and Fletcher are the only ones with fewer than 5 Cup Final appearances. He's like Arsene Wenger without all the past glory.

No, just a victim like everyone else.
The year after he left the Caps they made the Cup final lol.

Last year was the first time one of his teams had gotten out of the second round since 1990. His teams have gotten past the second round exactly twice in 35 years of GM'ing.

The Preds are good right now, and they have as good a shot as anyone of winning this season, but David Poile has kept jobs when pretty much everybody else in the NHL would've been fired long ago.

To be fair, the Caps were a dumpster fire when Poile arrived and he brought in Langway and 14 straight years of making the playoffs. So, too bad none of that translated into Cups, but there's certainly an argument you wouldn't have a franchise in Washington still were it not for Poile's efforts. And while McPhee brought in Ron Wilson, the team that made the 1998 Cup finals (one I wouldn't put in the top 5 best teams the Caps have had going into the playoffs) was one that Poile basically assembled.

Good thing we have video review in this league to determine whether or not a puck has completely crossed the goal line. But hey, let's take 10 minutes to determine whether or not a guy's skate is millimeters off the ice.

Yeah I didn't think it crossed either.

Glen Gulutzan hockey where you win the Corsi battle and lose the game. Oh well, just a month left and then he can be sent packing.
