Imo, the arguments around Ozzie Smith being in the HOF usually have to deal with who isn't in the HOF.

I'm personally of the opinion that FivethirtyEight has in which there should probably be about 10 more players from that era in the Hall of Fame if voters were looking at things from an era balanced perspective and with less nostalgia.

I think a case could be made for Dave Concepcion, he had a very solid glove and was a decent hitter as well....I think he might have got lost in the shuffle being on a team with so much talent....

Ozzie Smith got in, so there's a chance......

Ozzie Smith though was a pretty good offensive SS for his day...and he was easily the best defensive SS ever (which you can't say for Molina at C).

he was also a fantastic baserunner

He isn't an all-around player. He can't run or hit. He's strictly a defensive player.
