I know im missing somebody, but thats my list. I put Rodney at the top, and obviously this is all subjective, but his self deprecating humor was the best. He also gave more stand up comic a break than anyone in history. There are many many comic out there, that owe everything to him. I also have always thought Pryor was a little over rated. Funny as hell, but not greatest of all time funny.

i love your list, i just dont see dave chappelle to be as traditional Stand up comedian as others... He was more of an actor than a stand up comedian... so he was off my list... Gregg Giraldo i forgot about... He probably should be on my list...

Chappelle transitioned from stand up into acting, as many have in the past, and will do in the future

Another one we should probably mention is Redd Foxx; quite possibly the foulest comedian of all time.

Well it's a pretty damn fine list. All of those guys would be in my top 10 (except maybe Tosh who I like, but am not familiar with his standup)...

Oh... well i think that is the problem here, there are different comedies... Standup, Improv, and tv/movie comedy...

Most Comedy actors were good standup or improv, but when they became famous actors stopped... Richard Pryor is an exception...

But this thread i thought was all about standup...

Steve Martin is not funny.

The most "unfunny" comedians of all time list:
1) Steve Martin
2) Robin Williams
3) Woody Allan

They guy I could always watch, every time would make me laugh, never got old, was Rodney Dangerfield.

All those guys have some extremely funny bits, but for overall content, not good. Never thought Martin was good and could never understand why people thought he was so funny

Zach Gallifanakis (if thats how you spell it) isnt for everyone, but his little show"Between Two Ferns" was a fucking great ambush interview show he did for a while. i thought he was going to make Bruce Willis punch him in the face

She was funny at first then she got so annoying the sound of her voice was like rosie o'donnells nails on a chalkboard.

Another couple women who were funny when they started were Ellen and Elayne Boosler.

I guess I should have just said that Bob Hope was never funny... not his stand up anyway. But yeah, I meant George Burns who was funny for his time.

Funny thing is Bob Hope was more of an entertainer than comedian, he was often slammed for never writing any of his own stuff.
