I also don't understand the Winston to Cleveland move. Why not stick with Flacco? Sure, he's like 40, but he played pretty well last year. I'd bet that they had a difference of opinion on the contract value. Or Flacco could really want a chance to start.

Also surprised that Payton didn't go after Winston to start in Denver. At this point, Denver has to be more than a little worried at QB. Maybe a Flacco landing spot? OR does Payton go after the likes of Jimmy or Tannehill? Or is the plan to tank this year?

I thought Payton was targeting Winston or Darnold.

Not sure i'd give a decent pick for 1 year of a back-up QB. Very little opportunity to improve him, and if he gets better another team will reap the benefit. If you think he's a $9M player that you can get for $3.23M plus a mid round pick then I guess it's ok. Limited market for $9M back-ups.

Flacco will still be available in Week 2. If needed he can be re-signed then. In the meantime they get someone else tuned in to the playbook and current roster.

I don’t think you can bring Flacco back. What happens if Watson has a poor start? The fan base is going to remember Flacco’s run and they’re going to start calling for the back up. Is it possible they’ll be clamoring for Jameis Winston? In theory, yes but not as likely with the guy who brought them home to a playoff berth.

12th? There will be a QB available at 12 if they don't want top 3 (and maybe not JJ) IMO.

QB at 1 and 2, NE at 3 could go QB or MHJ (and trade for Fields). Giants would be smarter to wait on QB if they can't get top 3 IMO. Atlanta is set, so now we're talking about Minny and Denver (and maybe the Raiders, but I think they may be off QB this year now) to either stay put and get 4 and 5 or trade up to do so.
