he missed 40 games going back to 09. then he missed a year but still put up a healthy 75 last year.

he is going at a point a game pace this year and since going back to 09 put up close to a point a game.

heck last year coming off that back injury he still put up 66 points in 75 games thats pretty good for back issues.

i wonder who will miss more time over these contracts camalarrei or spezza

Totally agree. Having Kovy back would solve so many problems this team has.

Because they didn't bail a year into a long term extension with the goal being to build the team around them. I'd welcome Kovy back but the bottom line is that guy fucked us real bad.

Hockey players more than any other type of athlete seem to want to play close to where they grew up. Happens all the time. So cant fault Parise for that. Especially when they were giving him 13 mil a year to do it.

But Kovy is a different story. You dont bail on a contract with that much time remaining on it. I wouldn't welcome him back.

looking at this roster right now i can't say i blame the guy. who wants to play in atlanta 2.0? even with kovy on this team i would say we would be a lock for the playoffs as the 8th place team.

as it stands now we are a fringe playoff team no better then 8th.

But with Kovy you have someone to draw in UFA's. We saw what he (and Parise) did with the 2012 squad. Would Pittsburgh be such a UFA destination without Crosby? Kovy was the future.

That said, he did fuck us something awful. No lube. No warning. Just shoved it right up our ass.
