I’m not a huge basketball fan. LBJ was back in the day, but at 40? Nope. You could add in Curry or Embid I guess. But from a layman’s perspective, that’s who I feel is the superstars of today. No league is going to have more than 2 or 3 true superstars, if there are 10-20 guys that could fall into that range, then no one is actually in that range.

Thanks, this is why I put up the poll, to see how people think of it. Everyone does it differently, interesting to see. You have a tight definition, others here are broader.

Curious why Luka (no rings, no MVPs, pretty young) and Giannis make the cut but not someone like Jokic for you.

No one is going 10-20 though. The max seems to be 8-9 for the broader definitions, haven't looked at every vote closely

Already mentioned it upthread, that’s the point of me doing it, seeing what people weight. For me it’s a combination of elite production, alpha dog-ness, and fame. I think I picked 8

Just curious how a guy like Jokic makes it for you but Giannis doesn’t. Or why not the two most famous players who are still playing great don’t. And how SGA outranks the others

Seriously? The term 'alpha' usually means the team leader, the main guy, the one who steers the ship. It's almost always the best player but some really great players aren't leader types.

It's your turn now, you keep asking questions instead, tell me your mindset. You said elite = 2 way players but Jokic isn't that. You only picked 3 guys, and elite 2 way guys like Giannis didn't make your cut. Why not?
