Not going to happen. He likely signs a 2+1 extension after he opts out. He won't sign for a while though, to maintain some leverage on Pelinka.
Duh. I know that. But, you fire every fucking body?

Here is one short list of potential HC hires.

Mike Budenholzer, Ham’s former boss in Milwaukee and Atlanta, is expected to fetch the biggest coaching contract this offseason should he take a new job.

Other former head coaches who have lead bench roles around the NBA include Scott Brooks and James Borrego.

Denver’s David Adelman has had a front-row seat for the Lakers’ issues with the Nuggets and has fans inside the Lakers’ front office.

Minnesota assistant Micah Nori is about to take on a prominent role after Timberwolves coach Chris Finch suffered a knee injury in his team’s sweep against Phoenix.

And of course, Phil Handy, even though he is was fired along with Ham and everyone's favs, Tyron Lue if and when he decides to leave the Clip Joint and walk across the hall.

Some have suggested the Lakers may hire a woman HC. First up is Ann Meyers Drysdale. Her husband has died and the Lakers are spitballing about that hire. If they hire Ann, then Platschke's assessment of the Lakers as going off the deep-end may be true!

And the blame game is in full swing. This is Ham's comeback to all the criticism he tolerated I suppose. Pretty interesting.

One-by-one, potential Lakers candidates are favoring extensions with their present employers. Jason Kidd in Dallas is the latest after Lue, who is more than likely to re-sign his extension with the ClipJoint.

This trend could be that the potential candidates have a better working environment in their present situations than what they would inherit with the Lakers dramaland.

I wonder if most of them don't what anything to do with coaching LeBron James and the other prima donnas that are the present Lakers players. Just spitballing here. lol!

The Lakers would do everyone a favor by stop letting LeBron James influence what they do with player personnel and HCs. Latest rumor is J.J. Reddick is the next HC but that is rumors at this point.

You clearly don't understand how this works. The head coach chooses his staff in most cases. Trying to force assistants on a potential hire is how you lose someone like Lue.

Do you think the Warriors don't consult Curry? The Bucks with Freak?

They kept Handy the last time when Vogel got fired

Sure. Doesn't mean he wanted that this time around. He also jumped ship with Brown when he was fired. I'm sure they'll hire him back if the new coach is agreeable (or maybe he even becomes that coach).

This is a crappy trade proposal because LaVine is like Vanderbilt: The dude can't stay healthy and he is way overpaid. If it were somebody younger than maybe. On the upside though, LaVine is a bit of a better player than all three that Chicago is getting. the Lakers should ask for a Second Rounder in this year's draft and then the trade would be pretty decent.

It's also crappy since the Bulls already have a surplus of PGs, they won't want 2 more.

Charles Lee off the board to coach the Hornets.

Just the Lakers and Wizards with openings currently (and Keefe seems primed to be upgraded from interim).

Yep Shopson. Many of the proposed HC replacements are disappearing quickly as they either want nothing to do with the shitshow in LA or they are taking other offers because they don't any part of the shitshow in LA. Byron Scott made the dumb suggestion that he thinks James should be the next HC. LOL!! We have seen what James can do as the defacto GM and people think he'd be a good HC. LOL!!!
