This isn't moon landing conspiracies on YouTube brah. Just because you watched a TV show about an autistic doctor one time on ABC that does not mean that you can be a doctor too.

Listen Dickhead, I know from experience. OK Dumbass. Now try not to be such a fucking asshole. This is your last warning....

Very similar. The problem is the injury could be very close to femoral artery. Critical to relieve that pressure.

Since he's undergoing surgery tomorrow rather than immediate, I'm hoping that means his artery isnt under critical pressure.

This is what I thought when I heard he was being taken by helicopter

If you are not an orthopedic physician with access to his medical imaging then you have no earthly idea the chances of his ever playing football again. I would bet money that the chances are a lot better than some of you drama queens think. This isn't the fucking 80's.

You’re kind of contradicting yourself, but whatever. And if it’s not the 80s anymore I should probably stop right rolling my jeans, eh?

No need to punish a team for a loss of a player. Its not Alabama as a teams fault that he got hurt. And they won in convincing fashion over the home team. Bama will likely lose to Auburn and limp into a bowl game. In all the Tua is injured news they other players who were hurt have been lost in the news. We lost more than Tua today, fo how long I dont know, but one was on crutches before the game was over. The other didnt come out of the locker room.
If you don't care for the term 'punish' (which is probably not fair) then the committee should make an adjustment according to ALL of the facts about every team, including how they would rank a team compared to everyone else now that their QB is gone for the year.

Sure, backups have done amazing things in the past. Hell, OSU pushed Oregon's shit in with a 3rd string QB in the playoffs one year. But first round projected QB's are not easily replaced in general.

Should the committee drop them a lot? No, but ANY slots at this point pretty much excludes them from the playoffs which is all they are really there to determine.

Now he'll see his football career fade away as he's drafted by the Bungles. I hope he just stay in school for one more year.

The Committee just needs to REWARD the teams deserving to get in. With or without Tua, Alabama would not deserve a slot unless at least 2 P5 champs have 2+ losses.

They did it before. There is an eye test component and Bama has the name and top tier talent to jump conference winners when they don't even make the CCG, IF they look the part. This injury takes that off the table. Might move them down a few for their NY6 bowl, but that's about it.

But when they did it USC and tOSU both had 2 losses (with one for each being a 30+ point loss). Had either been 12-1, Bama would’ve sat home.

No 1-loss nonchamp has been put in the playoff over a 1-loss champ.

I haven't read the whole thread, but I'm wondering if Tua will ever play again? His injury looks to be pretty serious and I have my doubts as to whether or not he would be able to play by next September. Surely his pro stock has taken a major hit? They hit a lot harder in the NFL and you'd have to question whether or not he'd last through a whole season of constant pounding.

Not sure why hardness of hits is mentioned. None of the plays on which he was injured were hard hits. It was the way he fell. 300 pounds falling at a bad angle in your legs is going to cause most anyone to get injured.

He's not a real big guy plus this isn't the first time he's been injured. Yes it was a bad angle, I agree with that. Still, Tua likes to run and potential for injury is a bit higher for him than larger players.

To a point being gone over repeatedly here, as Ive said i wont sweat it if Alabama is left out and I expect it, but even without Tua we could be the 4th best team in the country. Objectively, if Alabama faced off against UGA, Oregon, Utah or Oklahoma tomorrow Id probably pick Alabama even with Mac Jones at QB. I'd be more certain in that choice if we 1. Would focus more on our running game and if 2. Our defense hadnt struggled against teams like LSU.

With that said I don't have confidence we could beat an Ohio State or LSU now. Clemson? Maybe. UGA? Probably. :noidea:

Update from Dr Cain, our team orthodoxy

Cain provided an additional update about Tagovailoa's health on Sunday.

"For the past 24 hours our medical team has consulted with multiple orthopedic experts across the country, who specialize in hip injuries and surgeries. Based on that research, Tua is being flown to Houston tonight to be evaluated and is scheduled to have hip surgery Monday. As previously stated, we anticipate a full recovery. The main focus has been, and will remain, on Tua, his family, and making sure we are providing them the best medical care possible."

From an ortho specialist

Some injuries leave athletes more susceptible to suffering a similar injury in the future. Levitt says that Tagovailoa will be no more vulnerable to a second dislocated hip than he was before Saturday's game.

"It is so rare. When you see all the major automobile accidents and sports injuries, it is really rare. The chances of him being back in the same situation again are so rare. Because he had the fracture the first time, if it heals with the plate and screws in place, it is actually a stronger socket in some respects, so I think his risks are not made greater because he had the fracture. This is really the case in high end athletes," Levitt said.

This is why you hope, the perfect scenario, the ball is back in the socket, there are no loose fragments in the socket, it is a single piece of the socket that can easily be put back. He doesn't get any complications and then, if all the Gods shine down on him, he then can probably get back to playing and retain his professional potential within a year."

The main difference so far is the blood flow. Bo had necrosis set in which caused more problems in the long run. They made significant effort to reduce the impact immediately so, hopefully, this won't happen to Tua.

I may throw a lot of shade the SECs way from time to time, but i really hate seeing a great player go down and his season end from an injury, even worst when its your last year. I hope he makes a great recovery and does well in the future. Great kid, its a damned shame to see things like this happen regardless of what team you play for. Hope Bama can make a strong finish without him.
He is only a Junior. He could recover and come back for his Senior Season and / or take a red-shirt next season and be a bad ass 5th year Senior in 2021. Get stronger, have his health-care paid for and be ready for the draft in 2 or 3 years (if he is able and willing to still play).

He just got hurt badly. It makes absolutely no sense for him to put himself in harms way and not get paid for it. Assuming he isn’t getting what he’d get in the nfl already.

Oh, I understand that, but if he is not physically ready for next year's draft, he has eligibility left and an option that will include great healthcare, rehab, etc.

Tua needs to come back another year for Bama if he can still play.
Guy is injury prone until he proves otherwise and imo may not get drafted at all being this level of damaged goods.
