I prefer Simmons, because I think he's going to be DOMINANT in the long term....however, Ingram is a better fit for the here and now

I'm just happy that we got to keep that pick - Either one is another forward so we have

Clarkson - G
Russell - G
Randle - F
Ingram or Simmons - F

Now all we need is a center

I think that was if it was the #3 pick. But who knows? If they can get a really good return (someone like PG13) then maybe go ahead and do it.

yeah, I'm kinda torn on it.

I understand them wanting to get a vet in here, but at the same time I would love to see Russell, Clarkson, Simmons/Ingram, Randle and Black ( who I would start at center over Hibbert unless they could somehow get Whiteside ) all develop together.

Whiteside? Rumours have it Miami aren't going to offer him the max

Whiteside kind of banged up, and yes if the Lakers trade for another top star, then they will attract free agents, but they got to get one big name first in order to get the others

Whatever happens the Lakers will end up with a good player because of this. Either through Simmons/Ingram or through a trade

True, but they are going to go after vet FA's anyway. If they can trade for a guy like PG13, that may very well entice another top FA to come to the Lakers rather than having to try to convince 2 to sign with them.

George would be about a $20 million cap hit. The Lakers will have about $60 million in cap space. A trade for someone like him or Butler, would leave them with about $40 million. With that, they can afford another top FA and nice upgrade of the bench.

unless the rumors are true and the Lakers plan on trading the pick to get a vet.
They don't need to trade the pick. Just get either player and call it a day. No time for over thinking.

Odd to see straight chalk for the lottery, lol...

Gotta think it will be Simmons left for LA. Sixers have Saric coming over, who does a lot of the same things Simmons does, so I would have to think they pick Ingram unless the Sixers trade the pick. They need the spacing that Ingram can provide. Of course, what the Sixers really need are guards, so maybe a trade makes the most sense for them. Trade down with the Celtics and take Dunn?

Excellent spot. There's really little need to do any work. Just take whoever is left of Simmons or Ingram. Don't make it any more complicated than it needs to be. There's like 98.6% of not fucking this up. Like don't even entertain trade offers unless its a godfather offer, even then, just think about.

And if the Kings call, hang up immediately. No Boogie.

I hear Whiteside could possibly be available...
There have been rumors that the Lakers are going to make a run after him - I actually believe that with Kobe finally gone - there is a bigger chance that the Lakers could do an instant rebuild like Miami did the year they traded their team away a year before they signed Lebron, Wade and Bosh.

As for trading the pick, you gotta field offers, and you have to call up and do your due diligence as well.I mean who knows what kind of offer we may or my not receive....but for the here and now, I'll just assume that we'll be sticking with Simmons/Ingram

and it's the best case scenario if we're gonna stick with youth, but you never know what Mitch might be able to work out...

Ah, no. If the Lakers wanted Jah over Russell, they would've picked him last year. Makes zero sense now with Walton bringing in a fast paced offense. Lakers will be fine with whomever the Sixers leave them with at #2.

The whole lottery dog and pony show looked almost scripted. Either way, I believe I stated long ago on other threads that we would keep the pick. We continue to rebound from the Dwightmare and Nash debacles while rebuilding the team closing more and more of the conditions surrounding those two disaster trades. We should be totally done with them by 2018. I am with those who want to keep the pick and add an Ingram or Simmons and as Tomodach stated not get cute or over-think this.
