NOt really sure if any one was dead set man crushed on Mayfield.

Aside from Rosen, Darnold and maybe one guy who got all viagra infused over Jackson for a moment, I dont think any one was all in on any of the QBs and most of the talk centered around who we COULD draft that would allow us to not sign his assholiness (yes Im board trade marking that as to how we will refer to the last QB going forward).

Let's not react excessively, and draft any RB at #13. We need trenches help in the first.

If Mayfield's there, I would make a stink about us trading for a 33/34 year old QB and then giving him an extension of 23-24 mil a year. He may not have the measurables the others have, but it wouldn't surprise me if he ends up being the best of them. Again, I don't pretend to be an expert, but I'd take him over anyone other than Darnold. And re Darnold and the Josh's - zero chance they slide to the Skins. Jackson? I question if he's even going to play QB in the NFL.

Well I think you know my feelings about Smith and the trade as well as the extension.

However...... The reality is, they couldnt bank on the guy THEY wanted being there. While I hate the trade, and Im not a fan of Smith, the only way to take a rookie was to be willing to trade what it would take to get the guy you want, and not risk having to settle.

Unless you have a GM who does his homework and has developed a good feel for when players really will go. Regardless, we're talking about a very unlikely hypothetical here.

Don't waste your time SoCal...Bananaman II is never wrong

Wow - good pt. = that fat ass probably is B-man with another screen name. His act is getting really, really tired. Every fucking post criticizes the Redskins & the fans. He asked if it is alright to switch teams & become an Eagles fan. I will take it one step further. Let's start a move to encourage him to switch teams & root for the Eagles (I know - he won't be able to cry like a pussy during special Redskins moments - oh well). Who's in?

Well if you moved from Boca to South Philly, I could totally understand being a bit edgy all the time.

To be honest I know nothing about the player. I have to research. Is he a three down back? Can he catch? I know he is a bigger back that has decent speed that breaks tackles. That is all I know. If someone like FitzPatrick or James is there and we pass on them I will blow a gasket. Vea or payne I would be angry unless we sign Hankins
We need a ton of defensive help. One of the worst defenses in the league last year and we have added Scandrick. We have lost a few key pieces that could have helped but the way I see it, we are worse off now on defense then we were last year so I don't see the defense improving.

This right here is why I think WR and RB will be in serious consideration for the first pick. If we cant make the defense top ten (which I think we will need), then crank up the offense and make the offensive changes already made look good.

We shall see...I'm betting we go defense at #13 or we trade down for more picks.

IM actually hoping they go defense, trade down would all depend on who they are targeting.

I just dont have a warm and fuzzy about this. I know shocking right?? :pound:

Good point. But trading into the 3rd isnt that hard or costly. And we have a high 2nd where Id expect at least one of Chubb and Michel to be available (plus Freeman, Penny, and Jones if youre high on any of them).

I favor Jones above all of them except Barkley! To me he's the perfect fit for this team, a 3 down back and makes Chris Thompson the perfect compliment to what he brings to the game. (There's video)

2018 NFL Draft Player Profiles: USC RB Ronald Jones II ...
www.steelersdepot.comNFL Draft

#25 Ronald Jones II / RB / 6’0 200 lbs

ESPN Stats
College Bio

The Good:

– Incredibly quick in the open field
– Runs with momentum making Jones a difficult target to tackle
– Hits the hole with immense burst
– Protects the football, almost fumble free throughout his time at USC
– Plays bigger than his size
– Possesses home run speed

The Bad:

– Does get caught running laterally along the line at times
– Willing blocker but could improve pass blocking consistency
– Overmatched as a pass blocker against elite talent
– Will need to expand contributions as a receiving option

Bio:

– 2017: 261 carries, 1550 rush yards, 5.9 ypc, 19 Rush TDs
– Career: 591 carries, 3619 rush yards, 6.1 ypc, 39 Rush TDs
– Has caught 32 receptions, 302 yards, 3 TDs career
– USC 5th All Time Leading Rusher

Tape Breakdown:

When it comes to USC running back Ronald Jones II, one word can be used to wrap up the prospect’s resume – productive. The USC product rushed for over 1500 yards in his final season while averaging almost six yards per carry. Jones was able to be one of the nation’s most productive runners with his great quickness, burst and strength. The college running back has shown traits that will make him an interesting option in a deep running back class.

Jones shows a lot of comfortability and success running behind USC’s zone blocking scheme. The running back is capable of reading his blocking and cutting back quickly to gash the defense.

"We already made one terrible decision and we're committed to it" is a very bad reason to make ANOTHER bad decision.

Their commitment to Smith should be meaningless if Rosen is there. Figure out Smith later.

A lot of people won't agree with this but, Jackson did well in his pro day, not spectacularly mind you, but pretty well. I believe that his stock drops because he's not willing to give up his dream of being an NFL QB, and, teams are going to shy away from him, because they are afraid of missing out on what they perceive to be better options in rounds #1 and #2. That said, here's my prediction...Jackson will eventually become the 2nd best QB coming out of this draft (Darnold). He will be available in the mid 3rd early 4th rounds and featured during the draft as this years version of the anxious QB waiting and waiting in the green room for his name to be called.

As we dont have a 3rd, if Jackson is there in the 4th and the Redskins take him...

Nah fuck it I still would find that one a hard sell. We simply dont need the drama

I agree that we don't have a 3rd, however, there are a lot of folks here talking about a trade down at some point. There might also be a trade up considering recent moves with Denver.

I mean... I think there's a lot of reasons Jackson is being overlooked but I'll refrain from sharing lol.

I doubt he lasts that long but we'll see.
