Also, I am having an issue with my iTunes purchases. I downloaded a bunch of Dan Carlin podcasts but backed them up and took them off of my phone for space. They are not on my computer though. They come up as "purchased" when I go to the itunes store, but when I try and play them all that plays is the preview.

Now, if I lost them, they should not come up as purchased, I assume. I have synced it every way possible.

I used to always be on the bleeding edge of development when I was younger; installing betas in a working environment at will. What did that result in? Many, many sleepless nights in front of a monitor trying everything in the world to recover data and reinstall OS's.

Ten years later? I find something that works and stick with it til it's an end of life and then grudgingly migrate to the next version. I no longer care about features; just a 50/509 mix of stability and functionality.

My daughter did it. If her phone works fine for a week or so I will probably go ahead and do it. Not until then though.

The download servers at Apple are slammed right now and most are going to require an iTunes update to your home system first. It will be best to wait till at least tomorrow and do it while it's synced to your computer. Don't attempt to do it via mobile connection. It could take a very long time that way.

They stagger the update releases by carrier and batches over the day so everyone doesn't attempt to do it at the same time. We're talking about millions of devices.
It may be a few hours before the update appears available to your phone. Mine has been made available yet either.

The icons have a slightly new look to them and there are a few new usability apps that are included with it now, but besides that, it's not some radical change from version 6 OS.

I have been using facetime instead of my phone for a year or so now. It is much clearer. I am not sure how this is any different if you just turn the camera off now.

New iOS is just a facelift more than anything. So far no problems whatsoever. I'd say it's like 95% cosmetic, so it's really nothing new to learn.

I just plugged it into my computer and had to get the new iTunes, then it updated the iOS in about 5 mins.

If you want it, but the phone doesn't give you the option, plug into your iTunes and hit Upgrade. It will upgrade iTunes to 11.1 and then offer you the iOS7 update.

A new one to check out is the iTunes Radio which is now included as one of the main iTunes buttons. It's like Pandora. You can run it on your home system and will have a lot of presence on phones as well. Apple will be pimping this hard as they will be unveiling a lot involving radio and tv entertainment services over the next year.

Siri has some new features as well as improvements in it's voice recognition abilities.

Same here. Wife and I are upgrading in a few days. These phones will become toys for my kids then, so i really dont care if it messes up or not. Was really curious to see how different it was..... And it is crazy different.
