here is a suggestion for future drafts and votes..
When teams are posted let owners put up cherry picked stats to sell why they made a decision... Especially in votes like this one, where people are unfamiliar with some players...
I also think that that will help increase the value of the bench... For example, i drafted defensive specialists on my bench, and i also drafted OPS guys to be pinch hitters...
We tried that in the past problem is people write a novel.
say that they can only put in a max of five stats... But they can cherry pick any stat they want... I just think it is kind of counterproductive to have an actual strategy on draft day if nobody is even going to notice what you did, and just compare the players on name value and their limited knowledge on them...
Will doUK will you go change your name in the triple crown league?
STILL NEED MORE PEOPLE FOR THE LEAGUE.
MOLSAN just sent me his email he's in, I believe he did a draft with us last year.
We had it you could list 3 things about each player problem is no matter how many times I reminded people they could only list three things they would still list 4, 5 and 6 things. So, we did away with that. Some actually said they wouldn't take part in the drafts anymore if we kept listing stats. So I can't win... Either way i'm pissin someone off...
Wow, I mean, I have trouble following the rules too, but didn't realize it got that annoying... Maybe there is a compromise somewhere... because I do think some kind of explanation is needed...
I agree, thats why I came up with doing the three things. I've been doin lotsa thinking about ways to improve our drafts so...
The first round is decided, right? What we waiting on or who are we waiting on before next round of playoffs?
what if instead of words it was just 3 Stats?? and say, if you put in anything more than 3 stats you are automatically disqualified...
For example I think the 3 most important stats for a #2 hitter is OBP, GIDP, SO- and I could share those 3 numbers... If one looks bad of course I would cherry pick a different stat...
It was just three stats and we can't just disqualify people they would never come back. We want more people involved and believe me I could not have been more clear about THREE STATS ONLY...
I understand your dilemma, it is just a shame that the voting process will never be about how good a strategy someone has, it will always be about the voters limited knowledge on a player and the names that we BELIEVE were good... nobody can know everything about these players, and unfortunately nobody knows why YOU think this player would be a perfect piece to your team...
I just think it takes away some of the fun being told your team loses, without anyone understanding the structure of your team(and no, I am not sour grapes about my team losing-fine maybe a little)...
