Ingram is not a bust, he's just not used correctly/enough. You can't give a RB a touch here and there and expect big yards. Big yards comes from lots of carries and those get padded by longer runs that will eventually happen. He hasn't produced much for sure, but I'm not sure what is expected there.

I wish Ingram would get traded.

Trent is a beast and far from a bust. A total of 12 carries on the night and still 54 yards. RB's that get over 100 yards in a game usually have 25-30 carries.

Ingram's a bust IMHO, and almost every stat shows it.

Trent still has plenty of time to prove his worth and has shown a lot of upside

Not hating, Just my :2cents:

I don't think there is a black mark against Alabama at all. I just don't think there is anything special about their process when transitioning into the NFL because Bama players are surrounded by other NFL prospects that might hide their flaws at the college level. You almost have to scout Bama prospects twice as hard to make sure that they are the talented ones.

Richardson has the total package as a skillset. He might not ever be a superstar but he could be a Frank Gore type guy for a team. He doesn't have that burst to be a factor back but he is a starting level player.

Dareus and Hightower look like decent players. Julio Jones is a superstar. Andre Smith seems decent. Its about what you get at every other school...Bama just has a whole lot more prospects lately

On the ESPN boards, I always said it was a waste to draft a running back in the first round. The Alabama fans never liked hearing that as they thought I was putting them down. Which I wasn't. It was just that Alabama had what was thought to be the best backs at the time.

In the NFL pass happy league, if you can't draft a QB, WR, LT, CB, or a sack machine, you then draft either a defensive lineman or an offensive lineman. When there are five times as many lineman in a draft as compared to a RB in the draft you have a better chance of finding quality.

There are tons of good running backs available and you can get them cheaper in the lower rounds.

You have your Crimson glasses on too much.

This would be your opinion on Rolando McClain and Dee Milliner. If they would have been drafted by better teams and surrounded by better players, they would be All Pros by now. Granted Milliner is a rookie.......

#9 Draft Pick Dee Milliner was benched against Tom Brady because Brady was just lighting him up.

#8 Draft Pick McClain retired at the age of 23.

In the NFL it is about WINNING. In the NFL it is not about being on a team with players better than you, you are supposed to make the players around you better, especially if you are a first round pick.

Speaking of McClain is he still a Student Assistant for Alabama? McClain is a gang thug bully that probably beat up small kids for fun. Hence his lawsuits against him when he was in college for beating up people. Yet, since he was so mean and violent he continued to play, because most college kids are just that college kids. Once McClain got into the NFL against men, he quickly realized they would absolutely destroy him once he tried his gang thug bully stuff on them.

Neither of the 2 RBs look like a future NFL star. Neither has shown big play potential. They're disappointments rather than 'Epic' busts. I wouldn't mind the Rams trading a 4th for Ingram but I doubt the Saints would accept it.

How many Super Bowls have they played in?

The last Super Bowl MVP that was a running back was 6th round draft pick Terrell Davis of the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 32, which occurred last millenium.

The last time Minnesota was in the playoffs was when Brett Favre was their QB. Coincidentally, that was the same year that Dallas was last in the playoffs.

How many Super Bowls did Barry Sanders win?

This, now if you want to be an impact player in the NFL you play WR, QB or on the defense.
-
That is not true. APete and Jamaal are still wrecking things. It does seem like RBs have just not been as talented. I wonder if it is because less and less star kids play the position. A lot are now QBs or WRs. Trent has surprised me. I thought he was very talented. I was never that impressed with Ingram. I wonder if Trent has some McFadden in him. Pt to a hole and he can show his abilities. Ask him to run zone plays where vision is required and he is mediocre.

It isn't like that was a 1000 years ago though, now the last time the Chiefs won a Super Bowl was way back... :D

Free advice to Bama fans ... here is how you should respond to this type of trolling post:

"We've won 3 of the last 4 NCs. This is a college football board. We don't give a shit about how our players play in the NFL because it doesn't change the fact that we won 3 of the last 4 NCs. So, stick that up your OU/NFL ass."

You are welcome.

Damn...those lines at Alabama must be good.
They are freakin good but Richardson will make an impact if he can stay healthy and his head on straight.

Ingram has always been way over rated IMO and certainly not heisman worthy.

As for McClain. He is from my hometown and his biggest problem is going back there. I will NEVER move back to that city, it's worse than Oakland. You have no idea wtf you are talking about when it comes to that stuff.

I don't think he is a student assistant either, but I know he is getting help from the staff. Which is funny because most people like to claim Alabama/Saban doesn't give a crap about people like him. He went back to get his degree.

Obviously McClain is a bust NFL wise because of his attitude. If he would stay away from Decatur and people from Decatur he would be much better off. If you've never been there, you are clueless.

----
Dee Milliner - a rookie. A rookie who plays. Enough said.

----

What I said about RB's had nothing to do with them playing for Alabama, it's the fact of all RB's. Look at the guy who put up Ingrams stats, 17 carries ALL YEAR. A RB that would have over 100 yards of rushing in a game gets about 40% more carries in a single game than he has gotten all year.

He ran zone plays at Alabama, so nope.

It's all about the number of carries. How do football fans not know this? You have to keep pounding the ball and eventually they are going to break a couple of long ones which is where their big yards come from.

40 yards on 10 carries only for an entire game, and that is supposed to be bad? Really?
