I mean, they seemed to get along really well and what does Watson have to worry about...his deal is guaranteed? Fans yell for the backup in every NFL city if the starter struggles just a little. Luckily our FO does not care about irrational, emotional fans.

Seems pretty similar.

There weren't many people shouting 'quarterback controversy!'. The trade market is going to be extremely low. Ridder's contract has no guarantees so he can be cut without cost. He would qualify for a pay hike under the rookie PPE clause in 2025.
