Never heard of him or his school, but I found this:NAIA football player Wendell Williams runs 4.19 40 at regional combine

Except:
"University of Cumberlands plays in the NAIA, and is not to be confused with fellow NAIA school Cumberland University (seriously). Cumberlands is in Williamsburg, Kentucky. Williams has played there each of the last two years, and while there are no scouting reports, there are at least some stats. In 2014, Williams had 16 receptions for 326 yards (20.4 yards per reception), and three touchdowns. He also rushed 11 times for 112 yards (10.2 yards per carry) and one touchdown. In 2015, Williams had 15 receptions for 457 yards (30.5 yards per reception), and eight touchdowns. He also rushed seven times for 204 yards and three touchdowns. In 2015, he returned six punts for 141 yards (23.5 yards per return) and one touchdown, and 24 kicks for 777 yards (32.4 yards per return), and three touchdowns."

As impressive as the lowest 40 times are, I'm still more impressed by the 300 lb+ man that runs in like 4.8 or 4.9. Like wtf...

Hand timed, apparently the NFL can't afford to to furnish their official regional combines with electronic timing equipment :tsk:

I thought they reported the laser time to be 4.32?

On that Wendell Williams 40 time. One scout told me the laser time was 4.32. Hand times were 4.19. #pumpsbrakes

Report: Wendall Williams runs 4.19 40-yard dash at regional combine

NFLDraftScout.com's Frank Cooney, writing for CBSSports.com this week, explored the phenomenon, and that included talking to Michael Weinstein, founder of Zybek devices, which have done all the 40-yard times at the NFL combine for the last six years.
Weinstein, whose company timed more than 200,000 high school athletes in the last year, has empirical data from years of testing that shows that hand-held stopwatches yield times in 40-yard runs that range from 0.10 to 0.25 seconds faster with the hand-held clocking than the Indianapolis combine method. The average difference was 0.17 faster.

Hand-held has a built in delay of the holders' reaction time to the player moving, then the following reaction to start the watch. There is also some anticipation likely in play at the finish. There is no lag in the laser - it triggers when you cross.

No idea who he is but I'd say he ran himself to be drafted.

That vert helped as well when combined with that 40. He's an athlete, but can he run a route other than the go route? He averaged 30 yards/touch essentially last year in NAIA, in limited usage.

My guess is he still goes undrafted. Some team will bring him in as an undrafted guy to see if he offers anything in the return game but I doubt he makes a team.

With Al Davis dead and buried you may be right, but if Al was still around I'd be shocked if this kid made it past round 3.

He was always the wildcard to take some freak athlete that had done nothing when actually playing football. The Raiders don't seem quite as enamored with the speed element anymore. Which is too bad as always loved that I could count on the Raiders to screw things up.

I think it was a 8.43

The apple doesn't fall that far from the tree. He signs with Oak or Dal in the 6th or 7th. Becomes a non-factor in the NFL.
I kind of wish BB would take a late 6 or 7 round pick on him. Tired of seeing Edelman, Amendola... returning kicks. Wish they could find a kid like this and have him play ST only like Slater.
