Don't get me wrong, I love Raines but after doing this draft I can see now why he isn't in. Plenty of players with better numbers other than SBs.

I see him to be top 10 lead off hitters of all time, to me that is enough for him to make the HOF...

Drinkin' beer, watching little league baseball isn't "busy"! :suds:

Drinking Zima, and watching male gymnastics isn't busy either but we allow you to use that excuse. :dhd:

Richie Ashburn needed the Vet committee to get in, that's where Raines will get it, Johnny Damon will be in the same boat.

Okay everyone has set their lineups. I say playoff seeding should be draft order 1vs2,3vs4,5vs6, and 7vs8

Sorry guys it's up now... I'll brag for a second... School just finished and both boys made the superintendent list for all A's all year... Dash made Allstars in baseball, don't know about Walker... Ended up 2nd in the division by 1 game so no city championships... I was asked to coach the tball Allstars and our team is fricking AWESOME!!! This is the first year of tball World Series so if we win state we are headed to play the champs from all different states and leagues such as Babe Ruth, little league, and Cal Ripken I believe so we have been all over the place... And both guys are being tested for the gifted program for next year! I'm SO proud of those guys... So I'm sorry I've been sort of slow here, my shitty phone kills me too... Never let a toddler play with your smart phones!

lol, same amount of hits as raines, more homers, more runs, more rbis, plenty of SB's, batting average and OPS up there, 2 rings. If Raines gets in, Damon will too, according to the numbers Damon has better all around numbers and the OPS is only .003 apart.

If you don't think Damon's is Raines equal as a leadoff hitter, can't be any closer than that.

I don't think Johnny Damon or Tim Raines deserves the hall, would go with Dave Parker and Al Oliver ahead of them both and they are bubble guys as well.

100% disagree with this entire post... Damon is nowhere near HOF, he has an OBP of .355, which is not great for a lead off hitter...

And again, Dave parker and Al oliver are not lead off men, nor are they even close to being great at the lineup spot they would take...

sounds like you are in the camp that only lets power hitters into the HOF....

sounds like you just have a hard on for Raines.

Damon's numbers across the board are better than Raines, unless you select only 1 or 2, he scored more runs, guessing that's pretty important for a leadoff guy, crushed him in RBI's,

Dave Parker and Al Oliver, were in Raines boat about a decade before of people not understanding why they weren't getting in. Guys with worse numbers at their positions are in the HOF.

I like Raines, but if he goes in the hall, those with BETTER overall numbers go in as well, not just based on SB's and OBP.

and we are discussing 4 guys that most experts agree are all top of the bubble guys, they are not that far off of each other. We are sorta pissin up the same rope.

LMAO, I guess I shouldn't be surprised as Damon played for the Royals.

Damon lead the league once in steals but didn't ever lead the league in anything else that matters, he stole more than 30 four times and had an OBP of .352 which isn't great for a leadoff hitter. OPS+ of 104 which is only slightly better than average.

Raines lead the league in steals four times, had more than 40 steals 11 times, an OBP of .385, won a batting title and had an OBP of more than .400 five times, Damon ZERO times.

A better comparison for Damon is Mickey Rivers...

he doesn't need to lead the league in anything, this is about career stats and he beats Raines in more categories.

Again, these two, if you want to talk OBP, George Van Haltren, should be in the HOF before Raines if that's a better example, Bobby Abrue as well, both could easily been lead off hitters and Van Haltren most likely was.

holy crap, Mickey Rivers had 1700 hits, no discussion at all. Might as well go with Eddie Yost, lead the league in walks 6 times and OBP twice, one of the best leadoff hitters of his time.
