Every year USC fans start the season with "we're gonna surprise people".

Yeah, with how much your program resembles a dumpster fire! GTFO

To use as a measuring stick... ESPN projects Cal Poly to make it to the NCAA Tourney as a 16 seed.

You guys are fine, your defense is going to shut down top scorers. And you will be able to rebound with the best of them. Offense will come.

Christain Polk in Sendeks first year at ASU would take half court shots regularly. No joke.

Miller can't be too happy. I know I was expecting more.

I really hope Cal Poly's coach doesn't teach his players to take those low percentage three point shots

Well, we did better than the score reflects. That is going to be one of, if not the best three shooter we'll see all year. Odister shot nothing but 3s and went 7-14. Not much you can do about a guy that does so well from up to 5-6 ft past the line.

Pretty disappointed with how we played overall but there were definitely some positives to take out of this game and build on. Rome wasn't built in one day.

I am glad it was a close game after all. I am pretty sure everyone expected our guys to run straight through Cal Poly. I think closer games give our guys a better idea of what they need to work on in order to get better. Refs helped keep it close too. A lot of calls against B Ash and his defense looked REALLY good. I hope the officials take this tape and review it. Other than that, it looks like our guys are still trying to settle in against a zone. We will definitely get zoned throughout the year. Mayes didn't look to promising tonight. Maybe just a bad night. I am sure he will be just fine. Cal Poly was kind of bullying him every time the ball was in his hands.

Pretty disappointed with how we played overall but there were definitely some positives to take out of this game and build on. Rome wasn't built in one day.

Shot 57% from the field and 45.5% from 3. Take away Mayes' 3 turnovers and we only had 8. 6 players in double digits, AG with a double double and 4 blocks, and BA was one reb from a double double. TJ has 6 dimes with 2 turnovers, and 2 steals. Ended up 56% from free throw, which is a drastic improvement from 44% in the first half.

Overall, it wasn't a bad showing. We didn't dominate, but Cal Poly was a pretty sound team.

We also held CP to 37% from the field.

When a team shoots 5% better from 3pt than they do from the field, you know it was an anomaly. That Olister kid was just a great shooter.
