made this up for another thread on the main board, figured I'd pop it in here for discussion / reference too.

quick guesstimate work on capgeek's calculator. assumptions:
- Manny is back
- Salo is not
- random utility forward - I used Higgins as example/placeholder, at $1.2m. I don't think he'll have teams beating down his door.
- my salary estimates a indicated with a *

do you really think we will resign both Bieksa and Ehrhoff or are you more thinking that is what we are going to be paying for those 2 positions?

Might there be a place for Parent too??
From what he showed in his early look, I don't consider that a given. we'll see in camp, I guess.
he's at 900k if he makes the cut.

Ehrhoff is the priority - I think MG or AV have even said that publicly recently.
I don't know about Bieksa.. he's been rumoured to be on his way out the door for 3 years now... it just doesn't seem to happen (not that I'm wishing him out anymore).
If he moves anywhere, i can see Burke signing him to a silly contract. If that's the case, then yeah, that's a placeholder. And maybe Salo stays on for one more year. That's a hell of a lot of rehab to come back for a few months. He missed enough games that he is eligible for a bonus laden contract, to that could work better for our cap anyways.

yeah I see him making $4.5 to $5M for Toronto for sure.

Ehrhoff is my priority.
