Oops. Forgot Bobby Butler! He can go in for either Huselius or Sykora

I like Petr right where he is, especially in a short season

I agree, he's the easiest option there.

I do think that Huselius is a but more guaranteed offense than Butler, but Bobby has really earned that spot down in Albany IMO.

I want Larsson to get more time than Andy Greene. Greene really took a step back last year if you ask me. At this point he is what he is, Larsson needs to get ice time to reach his potential.

They might need to try dressing 7 defensemen. They legitimately have 7 dmen that can easily play 18+. Injuries will take their toll at some point though, and we'll be glad to have them all.

Had the season been the full 82 I would have suggested trading some of them as we have some solid guys in Albany, but now what is the story with the trade deadline? Does that still get treated the same way?

I hope to have the old Tallinder back...

Larsson has to show me he has grit and the focus to win.

Look at that lineup and you have to wonder how the heck is this team going to compete for the cup. Clarkson is going to pot 30 this year or the 48 game equivlent. Parise is gone. Kovy will honestly have to be on beast mode. I'm not sure what the trade deadline will bring if anything.

Major x player this year is zid. If he can get the powerplay going that will bw huge in a short season.

Anything can happen in 48 games. Just hope that the difference maker is behind the bench. San jose assistant can help the pp Stevens maybe can help. And pdb has won me over....I like the staff on paper and let's face it last playoffs we had the edge in coaching in all the rounds

This is it for tedenby. With the game being how it is. There is no reason he cant succeed. If he doesnt cut it then enough already

He's the big x factor for me. I hope he can finally put it all together. He has the skills and now with a spot open for a winger he has his opportunity. I'm optimistic about him.

Mart St. Louis was 25 when he finally clicked. Relax, Tedenby is just 22.

Also, just to recap here's the goals we lost from last season:

Parise: 31
Sykora: 21
Poni: 7

That's 59 Goals:

Assume Travis covers 20 of those.
Sykora covers 15
Butler 15
JJ/Ted: 20 between them.

Not as terrible as it seems.

I'm not terribly worried about scoring goals. Having Zajac/Zidlicky for the whole season should help. I also hope that we can get some more productivity out of JJ and Tedenby, as well as Larsson stepping up and producing offensively. I also hope for an improved PP with Shaw as an assistant now. I think we'll be ok offensively.

Thing with st.Louis is he went undrafted. Tedenby was what 25th best player taken that year? St.louis game excelled when it was still clutch and grab. The game is built now for tedenby to succeed.

Heck how many more chances is he going to get? Im a big believer that a change of scenery does wonders for players. If he can't cut it here maybe elsewhere he can

Tedenby has barely been given any chances yet. Sure, he should "take" them, but this has always been a very hard team to crack if you're a young player. Henrique was almost rookie of the year, but was cut in camp don't forget.

Give the kid time, what's the point in rushing him up here if it's just to fail.

I'd also like to point out that St Louis played 4 seasons with less than 40 pts or less before he exploded for the last two years before the lockout.

Players develop at different rates, and just because he was a first round pick isn't a guaranteed thing in the first place.

We signed Clarkson as an undrafted FA and he spent two full season in the AHL before cracking the NHL, then took 4 years until he hit 30 Goals.

Anyway, Tedenby has really heated up in the last week in Albany, so he'll get a very serious look in camp.

I certainly hope he steps up too. I'd really like to see an Elias-Henrique-Tedenby line if Sykora doesn't resign. If he loses that top 6 forward spot, it's going to be really hard to slot him on the third line. Butler jj and Clarkson/Zubrus are going to get them I have a feeling. Then where do you put him? I can't really see him on the 4th line.
