So here we go, we have decided to skip the NBA draft this time and do another baseball draft.

This draft we will draft 25 players from 25 years in MLB history.

Years are 1923 - 1983.

The year the player first posted a stat is the year we use for them, at bat, run scored, 1/3 in pitched, walk, HBP whatever.

You will be allowed 4 hall of fame players. 2 hitters & 2 pitchers.

5 or 6 bench players you decide
5 SP's
5 or 6 RP's you decide

You can trade but not between your teams.

You cannot have 2 players representing the same year.

My suggestion:

Draft a player by year... Any year you draft that year is yours and only you can draft a player from that year...

The player represents the year that he first appeared...

So if i draft Babe Ruth, he first appeared in 1914, I am the only one who can draft players who first appeared in the year 1914...

And to make it even more fun, you can only draft up to 15 different years

Or how about 25 consecutive years, may be started and ended at any year but the starting year cant be before 1900 and the ending year cant be after 1975...

Year window is of course up for debate... But i think it is necessary for this...

25 different years, but everyone must use the same 25 years... and those years are decided during the draft...

If i draft Babe ruth, he first appeared in 1914, everyone will need a 1914 player(they can be taken whenever)

Hmmmm. Maybe. Here's the thing, you'd have to go off rookie seasons as your year, like if you want Babe Ruth, you'd have to take Babe from his rookie season. Other problem is, with 8 guys drafting 25, you'd need 200 years
I like the idea of drafting 25 guys, all from different rookie classes
So if i draft Babe Ruth, he first appeared in 1914, I am the only one who can draft players who first appeared in the year 1914...

And to make it even more fun, you can only draft up to 15 different years

I like Milks idea, but would limit it to 5-10 years. I'd also allow multiple guys to use the same year

I like this one best but we should say you can only use 10 years... 25 players

How bout this, just spitballing...12 round draft, 25 players per team. The 11 rounds cover C, 1B, 2B, SS, 3B, LF, CF, RF, DH, #1 pitcher, closer and designated team The rest of your starting pitchers, bullpen, and bench come from the team you desegnate. Example, Nos takes Babe Ruth with his first pick, I take Yankees with #2 overall. I don't get a position player there, I get the right to use the Yankees for rest of my rotation, bullpen and bench after round 12. Anyone can take player or team at any time, once a team is gone, no one else can pick their players(after 12 rounds....multiple players from same team can be picked by anyone). So......we pick our first 11 players and teams, then post our 25 for playoffs.
