chubb falling eh
I think teams are more wary of injury issues when it comes to RBs these days. His running style combined with his injuries make him a pretty big risk IMO. When he's healthy, he's a first round talent, but it's hit or miss what level of health he's actually in. I could see him having a short shelf life in the NFL honestly.

Freeman has a TON of mileage on him, and he doesn't have elite agility or acceleration. He also doesn't offer much in the passing game. I'd put him between 8th and 10th on the RB pecking order.

Apparently Michel is bone-on-bone in his knee. I'm taking him off my top 5 and replacing him with Kelly.

Kelly is a creative runner that can get some tough yards.

I also like Guice the 2nd most but I dont like his value in rd1 at all unless you're the Steelers or Eagles taking him at the bottom.

Freeman is pretty solid in the pass game he caught 80 out of 89 targets and was pretty good in pass protectionPass blocking.png

Those will be the next 5 I think. The BEST 5 after Barkley will end up being

Guide
Chubb
Wadley
Kelly
Freeman

I like Wadley too, just not sure he's built to take the punishment.

I think the opinion is that he played in 51 games and only caught 80 balls, so it's not like he's used to being a big part of the passing game. If that's the case, you need to be a beast on the ground, and the rub on him is his athleticism. He's more of a grinder than someone who's going to make those cuts to elude tacklers. Also, even though he's 229 lbs, he doesn't always play like it. If he was a punishing back it would be one thing. One statement I've seen that sums this up is that he's more willing to absorb contact than inflict it.

That is really, really sad. Michel looked like he could be a special talent in the NFL. Hopefully it's something that can be fixed (I have no idea what medical science is capable of), but I saw that several GMs are worried he won't be around long enough to see a 2nd contract.

I like Michel, but he doesnt strike me as being built as an every down back, almost more like a Tavon Austin type player

I see him as a dangerous 3rd down back. He's an elite pass catcher with great agility and elusivebess . Not going to be an every down guy but his multi purpose ability is probably only surpassed by Barkley. If he was bigger he'd be a first rounder

What?

First off, they don't play the same position. Secondly, Michel has 40 lbs on Austin. At 5'11, 214, there's no reason he couldn't be an every down back, or at least a 2 down back with some passing game possibilities. Size-wise, he compares very favorably to a Melvin Gordon or Kareem Hunt. I thought Hunt was his best NFL comparison.

No idea how I've never watched Kerryon Johnson outside of a couple of games but he is definitely in my top 5.

Yeah, I don't get the Tavon comp at all. Tavon is a flea compared to Sony, who is built more like McCoy (but a bit heavier/stronger). That potential bone-on-bone condition in his knee is very worrisome though, he could REALLY slide from that. RB shelf life is short enough on average as it is...
