That one should be easy for the Pats:

1996. Got to the SB without cheating.

I think the 2008 Cardinals were better than the 2015 team. Other than that, solid choices.

The Vikings were dominated in that Superbowl.

The 75 and 98 Vikings lost 3 and 2 games by a combined score of 11 and 6 points respectively. Both of them better cases than a team who's final game was over before it started. There is a reason that Hank Stram was cackling with delight in that game.

75' Pearson pushed off and 98' Make that kick Gary!

Both were better teams.

Yep, Warner >>> Palmer

Warner > Palmer sure, but this year's team as a whole was a lot more dominant if we're talking regular season. That 08' team snuck into the playoffs at 9-7, while this team won the division, set a franchise record in wins and looked like one of the SB favorites up until about the end of Week 15 (when Badger went down) I'd say.

That other team shocked the world. The Warner-Fitz-Boldin trio was filthy though.

That 08 squad almost won the Super Bowl, this 15 squad almost lost the divisional playoff game.

Postseason play is all that matters.

Yeah I see what you mean but I looked at the 08' team less based on record and more on how good of a team they became by the end.

Had they not faced Pittsburgh in the Super Bowl, I would had been pulling for the Cards bigtime!

Almost doesn't matter… but to your second point I agree. It just depends what the rankings are based off of I guess.

yeah true, they got hot at the right time which is all that truly matters… that game still makes me cringe. Santonio Holmes made a hell of a catch at the expense of my emotions.

Yeah that I can understand. Fitz did it to me right before Holmes saved the day. What a game tho!

Michael Rothstein said:
The 1957 team was Detroit's last to win an NFL championship. The team had seven eventual Hall of Famers: Bobby Layne, Jack Christiansen, Joe Schmidt, Yale Lary, Frank Gatski, John Henry Johnson and Lou Creekmur. Seven Detroit players made the Pro Bowl that season. The other team to come close would be the 1991 Lions. Led by Barry Sanders, Herman Moore, Chris Spielman and Jerry Ball, the '91 Lions have the franchise's lone playoff win in the Super Bowl era and the best regular-season record ever at 12-4.

It's sad Tobin Rote didn't even get mentioned for his efforts in 1957. Bobby Layne went 4-3 before breaking his leg in three places and Rote went 4-1 plus 2 wins in the Division and Championship games to finish out the season.

I would agree with '75.

The '76 Steeler team didn't win a SB, thus get over looked, but the way the DEF turn it on after some ugly losses early you felt like they were going to run the table...may have been the most dominant stretch of games the Steel Curtain had...they won 9 or 10 straight, but only gave up like 35 pts total in those gms....Raiders got us back.

I kind of think a couple of the 90's teams might've been better than the 69 team pound for pound. Difference is one team finished the job and the other choked, dropped the ball, or whatever you wish to call it. Just reading this, my god were the 70's and 80's an awful stretch of football if you're a Chiefs fans. There are probably a couple of teams that won the AFL (obviously excluding 69) that probably should be taken more seriously than they have been.

I'm guessing the '15 Panthers are rated as the best Carolina team in their short history.

I'd click on the link, but I'm a busy man.

The Broncos one was an easy one. Didn't have to click on the link to know which team they picked. Funny thing is players have said they think the 96' Broncos team was actually the most talented during that 96-98 stretch but was the only one to not win the Super Bowl so to me have to finish the job to be counted as the best.

This years team was much more dominant than Warner's 2008 team. The Cardinals set all sorts of franchise records this season but the difference for the 2008 team is that Warner didnt shut down in the playoffs.
