What say you, O's fans? What are our needs and concerns this winter? Who should we keep, let go, or bring up?
- Mark Reynolds has a $11 million option. Do we not pick that up and risk letting him test the waters and sign elsewhere? His glove at 1st base was in stark contrast to his defense at third. If he were to go, who becomes our first baseman? Chris Davis?
- Nate McLouth showed he has some pop and some speed. He rebounded from whatever ails he had with Atlanta and Pittsburgh. Do we resign him and platoon him in left with Reimold (if Reimold does indeed stay healthy). Reimold had the same neck surgery Peyton Manning had, and Peyton has responded well. He also put up great numbers in his limited playing time in 2012. Do we let McLouth go and risk Reimold getting injured again next season? Do we go after another free agent left fielder altogether?
- Interleague play will be spread out over the course of the season in 2013. Is it viable to have someone at DH who is really only suited for that role? Jim Thome was a great presence in the clubhouse. Is it worth it to bring him back in that capacity, and will his potential contribution justify signing him? Do we elect to go DH by committee with players who can field other positions? Do we try and sign a big contract big bat?
- The plan is for Brian Roberts to play 2B. Do we rely on him and, should injury plague him again, hope Andino/Flaherty can fill the bill until a player like Schoop is ready? Do we trade a minor leaguer like Hoes or Schoop to get a veteran second baseman?
