Man Purdy has the cool factor like a certain Niners legend. Long way to go in his career but Joe wasn't a tall guy with a cannon either. He was 6'2" though

It's pretty incredible how good place kickers have gotten. It wasn't that long ago that attempting anything over 50 yards only happened when it was end of half or game scenario and those seemed mostly like desperation tries. Now coaches don't hesitate to trot their kicker out for attempts over 50...and these guys make them at a very good percentage...crazy
