Several Trade backs getting 2 1sts and a 2nd for next year. No way in Hell Hooker falls to 100 and Witherspoon will be long gone by 132.

I will be honest, I took Jaren Hall because I blocked out I had stolen Hooker at 100

Will Anderson, Joey Porter Jr., and Brian Branch is one hell of a start. I know Torrence was in there as Lions true current scheduled slot for 2nd round. I really like Torrence as he's a mauling RG, but I'd have to defer to defense. Like you stated, you picked up extra picks.

Love the idea of Joey Porter or even Cam Smith in the 1st round and most likely Witherspoon moves up to early - mid day 2, maybe late day 1 but I doubt it at this time.

Hooker is my lean to for QB in 2023, but as I stated prior, I'd hope for all defense with all of the day 1 and day 2 picks.

I do like Coastal Carolina QB, Grayson McCall, as a day 3 pick. I doubt he lasts until the 5th round.

I also like Michigan TE Luke Schoonmaker as a day 3 possibility, He is more than simply reliable as a pass/run blocker, has very good hands, knows soft zones to sit down in, but he doesn't have great speed. He's 6' 6 " and 260 lbs.

Lions will have 5 picks in the top 70 or at worst top 75 if they continue their hapless ways of not winning.

I passed up on my homer pick Clark Phillips for Porter.

I would not be shocked at all to see Witherspoon sneak into the first. He covers everything

I just can’t do it, so sick of talking draft end of October beginning of November. I don’t really get upset about the team anymore, I’m more apathetic… I had hoped for this regime, but that’s pretty much in the shitter. Bleh.

I like Clark Phillips a lot as we definitely need a nickel CB. There isn't a player currently on the Lions roster that appears to be a reliable starter.

I would take the outside CB first but there's no shame in wanting Phillips. His playstyle fits what this current regime looks for in a player.

I also like Michigan's NB Mike Sainristil.

We need more front seven on D. If Siaki Ika is still there in rd 3 or maybe even end of round 2 we need to be all over him.

True that he could very well sneak into the first round.

I watched some of that Illinois versus Nebraska game this past weekend. Had Nebraska QB Casey Thompson looked to his left side, at all, he had a Wide-open receiver that was being covered by Witherspoon. Witherspoon was turned around several times and behind coverage by 4-6 yards easily, but he was able to close some ground and the ball never came to that receiver's side. It's not harping on Witherspoon as all CB's make mistakes, but this happened 3-4 times within the same series.

I still like his profile and potential. I'm simply not sold on if he truly is a 1st round graded CB. I won't go off on what these damn draft site pundits rank players either. If you look at current rankings for 1st round players, there are 10-12 currently that likely won't be

He's nothing more than an out of shape run stuffer at the NT/NG position, in my opinion, even for a 3rd round pick.

I do agree that we need more front 7 but more importantly front 4 or front 5 players depending on base-front utilized.

Tbh, we've been in this mode mostly for the last 5 years and assuredly so the last 3 years - inclusive of this season - 2018, 2019 and 2020, each of those seasons we were either 3-3/2018, 3-3-1/2019, 3-3/2020 and out of it by end of November. We're simply a month ahead of schedule but inline with last season.

Maybe late day 3 prospects in Michigan's Mazi Smith or even Michigan State Jacob Slade. Mazi has short arms but both players are high motor players. Mazi plays more 0/1/2 tech and Slade plays more 2/3-tech with some 4i/5-tech thrown in.

I tend to tune out for most of the actual season and just enjoy the draft stuff. Not the Lions actual drafts mind you, but imaging what we COULD draft

Maybe Bresee slips because of the injury and we take him earlier. I am sure @RobBase would like that.

I am not a fan of Bresee either. If a DL, no matter if he's an edge rusher or interior defender, cannot consistently turn his shoulders beyond 30 degrees, I do not want him. Bresee is extremely stiff above his hips. He's for damn sure a high motor tries hard every play defender, but he's overrated. He is not what you expect out of an allegedly 1st round player in my opinion.

I've been looking at Florida DL Gervon Dextor for that second 1st round pick - and not that I'm correct on this choice either.

Gervon reminds me of Chiefs Chris Jones and Titans Jefferey Simmons.

Gervon Dextor is 6' 6" 312 lbs., and has primarily played out of position as a 5/4i-tech who slides inside to play 0/1/2/3-tech. He's long armed and has some explosive traits to get into the backfield or to chase and run laterally.

Using current projected draft lottery picks by OTC - Over The Cap
Round 1 - #1 (F-S Value: 3000)
Round 1 - #14 (F-S Value: 1663)
Round 2 - #32 (F-S Value: 1244)
Round 2 - #62 (F-S Value: 909)
Round 3 - #64 (F-S Value: 892)
Round 5 - #137 (F-S Value: 507)
Round 6 - #177 (F-S Value: 377)
Round 6 - #187 (F-S Value: 349)

If the Lions are in line to draft top 3, I would temporarily put together a hypothetical draft of

No. 1 DE Will Anderson - if Lions are not in position to draft Will Anderson, then I'd draft Texas Tech DE Tyree Wilson - he's played out of position also
No. 14 DT Dexter Gervon- even if the Rams pick is late as 20/21/22
No. 32 undecided - Brian Branch nor Clark Phillips is worthy of such a high pick here - Should one of the CB's drops, I'd consider them here
No. 62 CB Eli Ricks - if a CB drops into the No. 32 slot, I'd double dip at Edge here with TCU Edge Dylan Horton - it may be early for him too
No. 64 MLB's Noah Sewell (Oregon) or Jack Campbell (Iowa) There should be room to drop down here

There is no Box Safety in this draft worthy of an early day 1 or day 2 pick in my opinion.

Forgot about him. I would be OK with him too. Once he gets into a NFL weight training program he will be much better than he is in college.
