What is your preferred realistic scenario for the draft?

For me, I want us to take an Edge Rusher at 14 and then trade up to take Jaire Alexander at the end of the first round.

My ideal:
  • Trade down a couple spots in round 1, pick up an extra 2 this year and an extra 2 next year, then draft one of the top-rated man cover corners in the draft. (probably Denzel Ward or Josh Jackson)
  • In round 2 go OL (maybe Mike McGlinchey or Will Hernandez) and EDGE (maybe Arden Key or Sam Hubbard)
  • In round 3 go LB (Shaquem Griffin)
  • The rest of the draft go best available. Target a TE at one of the three picks between 101 and 138.

Trading down to net two extra seconds likely takes us out of the first round all together but I appreciate you sharing. We need a more active board!

Texans receive:
» 2017 first-round pick (No. 12): Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson
Browns receive:
» 2017 first-round pick (No. 25): Jabril Peppers, S, Michigan
» 2018 first-round pick

Chiefs receive:
» 2017 first-round pick (No. 10): Patrick Mahomes, QB, Texas Tech
Bills receive:
» 2017 first-round pick (No. 27): Tre'Davious White, CB, LSU
» 2017 third-round pick (No. 91) -- traded to Rams
» 2018 first-round pick

...Given those two trades near 14 last year, two second rounders to move down a few spots isn't grossly unfeasible. And like I said, it's what I'd like to have happen.

I'd be on board. But I suspect they're looking for an impact player at 14.

We will probably have 5 or 6 QBs and RBs go in the top 13 - atypical of an NFL draft. There are likely going to be more impact players in the trenches and defense falling to the middle and late first round than normal.

I can easily see 4 QBs and Barkley for sure. That really pushes more talent down to us at 14.

Stay at 14 and grab Davenport. We NEED an impact edge rusher that can stay healthy

I'd like to see them focus on D, again. Edge rusher would be a very good idea so the CBs aren't covering for more than 4 seconds....then more depth for competition at all levels of the D.

If one or 2 of the QBs fall to their spot, I'd have no complaint if they traded back and picked up more picks for this draft, not 2019. The only reason they shouldn't trade out is if one of the studs of the draft, Barkley, Chubb, or somebody like that falls to them, then don't answer the phone and pick them. They need depth and competition at basically every position, so get it now if they can.

Derwin James would be good too however with so many CBs brought in I doubt we go secondary in the first round. EDGE is almost a guarantee unless a no brainer drops.
