I've got an idea, feel free to blow holes in it.
What if we did a current draft, say anyone who played a down in 2010.
Each team gets 30 players, 15 O, 15 D
Run any system you want, run and shoot, west coast. Vertical, read option

The twist is, each team get 26 current players and 4 wild cards that played in any era

You can pick them in any round, you can trade them, they can play any position. 4 offense, 2 and 2, 4 D, whatever

Pick at your own risk. If you pick an 80's QB or LT, thinking in today's game they'd be as great or greater, fine. However, of you pick a HOF center from 1960 who was 6' 235, and no one votes for you because they think he couldn't play today, that's their right


I think each pick should include football reference height and weight

I think we should scrap rankings. Give the winner 2000, 2nd 800, and a mod or someone not playing, but has played, 200 to be the tiebreaker(whether there's 1 tie or 5, 200 total for the job. So, a mod we agree on, or, like for the baseball mock we just did, Hockey would have worked

Also, any trade agreed on by both parties goes. Everyone who plays now is good, they know what they are doing, either have trades or scrap them altogether. This chart crap is for the birds

I don't much care for the rankings the way we do them either but i'm not sure bringing in an outsider is the answer either. I would almost rather have us let the rankings decide the winners, it would make people really put thought into their rankings and it would probably take away some of the infighting, everyone could just send me their rankings after a certain amount of time to put them together and I would simply announce them and post them without posting who ranked who where.

I also have no problem at all allowing trades to go through regardless of the players involved although I know it will lead to trouble sometime in the future.

What if... Every mock, right before we start picking, everyone pm's Nos the name of one player(not themselves) they nominate as the official tie breaker. Whoever gets the most votes is the guy. He remains anonymous, and if there is a tie, he breaks it(unless he is involved in the tie game, then the runners up decides). That person PM's Nos the winner, Nos posts it. Once the mock is over, the tie breaker is revealed, so both he and Nos confirm he was the nominee.
I only say keep the tiebreaker anonymous till after the mock is over so there can be no pressure or debate. If there's a tie, he breaks it, no questions asked
