I highly doubt this if for no other reason that cowher wouldn't undermine shanahan like that and risk his professional credibility.

snyder would have to be one of the dumbest people on the planet if he didnt look at his stewardship , and see how it has fallen apart and not learn from it .

i can see danny wanting to play with his toy ,but he is also a greedy business man and he knows he needs this team to be successful or he will lose cash

Insert Jerry Jones for Dan Snyder and you could post that very statement on the Cowboys Board Dad

The next few weeks should be very interesting for Redskins fans

Thing is, over the last 15 years, neither team has done anything of note aside from big free agent and draft moves, and yet both teams have gone up in value and revenue. So I dont think either owner is in fear of taking a hit in the wallet for their actions. Dan is a master at making the signing that will sell jerseys. Everyone wants to NOW blame Shanahan for the cap hit, but I honestly think if he had his way, he would have simply cut Haynesworth outright and avoided the drama. I think alot more went on in the background than any of us will ever really know.

Listening to it now.

And reading this article as I'm listening. Bruce Allen, Washington Redskins general manager, is the missing man in team?s chaos - The Washington Post

No one could put enough perfume on this swine of a season. But a skilled ambassador could have kept Snyder, Shanahan, Griffin and the dysfunction within from becoming a national punch line leading the pregame shows for a month. The Texans and Falcons can say they were both monstrous disappointments this season, but at least they haven’t entered Bingo Caller territory as absurd-organization lore goes.

This is now “Unforgiven.” There are no redeeming characters. There are only people who have done wrong and people about to do more wrong. And just as Clint Eastwood’s character soothed a young assassin’s conscience in the film by saying, “We all got it coming, kid,” so too does everyone at the top of the organization have it coming — including the de facto general manager.

Allen was supposed to be the guy to bring an end to the chaos, the liaison between the owner and the coach, the cartilage between the boneheads of Snyder and Shanahan. As this fractured franchise undergoes major surgery in the offseason, maybe it’s time to replace that joint too.

While I don't think Allen needs to be dismissed (maybe paired with a personnel guy?), nobody really feels like the villain this season, and no one is smelling like roses, either. Perhaps some of you guys in the D.C. area can tell me, since I'm watching from afar... did Bruce say anything this past month? Even a peep to try to settle the storm?

and of course nothing could have happened in the back ground out of the ordinary as well

i dont blame shanahan for anything other then hiring a lousey staff

the cap penalty was BS

i think we do have a good corp group of players here and for the next 2 years we are set up for the cap

those are good things but cooley said it best , shanahan didnt inspire this team and that hurt him

The one memory I'll have of Moss is that Monday night game in Dallas a few years back. Such a good feeling. That and pretty much he was our only WR for what seemed like an eternity. Our default #1.

Matich said he would like O'Brien but not going to happen so he picked Russ Grimm.

I know exactly what he said and I agree with him, in fact I posted this exact same thing prior to his statement. I still think that if Dan Snyder wanted he could outbid Houston for O'Brien. Russ Grim would be the next best thing we know he would address that woeful offensive line.

Who said anything out of the ordinary?? For this team, the past 15 years it has been very common for us to make the splashy off season move. the only difference over the past four years is that Mike was at the podium instead of Dan and or Vinny.

Congratulation guys and welcome to reality. Moss and Fletcher should have been cut last season or the prior one. Now with the potential hire of a new HC and staff, my other evaluations will prove to be true as well. Too bad it took this season for the blind loyalist to get the glitter out of their eyes.
