It was most certainly a "Feel Good" finale. Boy. Except for poor Betty.

It got a little sappy with Stan and Peggy but I liked how they showed her ability to rattle cages and get things done even at McCann Erikson. :)

I am also glad Don found contentment and self-love even though he ends up back at Madison Ave. (Creating the most popular ad of all time LOL)

Sally grows up.. Check

Pete - happiness - Check

Joan - Independence - Check.

Solid B
I thought that whole thing came completely out of left field. I was hardly even hinted at before this episode.

However, that phone call, in a vacuum, was probably my favorite scene of the episode. Hillarious.

"What?"

"What?"

"I don't even think about you"

YES.. That was hilarious. :)

That's why the "No wait, I must love you, I DO love you" afterwards was too sappy.

But hey we all love Peggy... We only want the best for her.. :)

I thought it would have been better if she got some closure (or at least some continuation), with her son. At least they HAVE been hinting at that.

Also, I missed the name of Joan's firm. Who ended up being her partner? There were definitely 2 names mentioned.

Hardly hinted at? They've had loads of chemistry for several seasons now. So much so that it was basically fan service that they finally sealed the deal.

???

I guess I just missed the whole Ross/Rachel thing on Mad Men. I thought it was better than that sort of BS.

I was clearly wrong...

Even a season or two ago (not sure because of the split season) she called him in the middle of the night when she had a rat under her be he answered pointedly "I'm not your boyfriend".

That's drawing lines regarding activity though, not emotion.

True. I just remembered that and other small things and to me them getting together wasnt that out of left field.

Ah OK I think I drew a different conclusion than you intended, I thought you were citing Stan's "I'm not your boyfriend" declaration as a reason you were surprised that they got together in the end.

I was the one surprised. Comeds was explaining why he saw it coming.

I know you were surprised. Not to nitpick but I'd have described the situation as "You were surprised, wildturkey explained why he saw it coming and Comeds was responding to wildturkey".

I didn't think it was coming. I thought it was completely contrived. The Pete ending was like that too.

Don's salvation in California was a little bit too but for some reason it's still ok. It does make sense.

Roger's was odd although he still has the best one-liners

Joan and Betty has the best endings.

Yeah, they were best buds at the office but there was zero sexual tension between them before... at least none that I picked up. The only real false note in the finale, imo.

Weiner confirmed today that Draper did come up with the famous Coke commercial. Good, because it wasn't obvious to me :rolleyes2:
