I think it makes sense if they are all NY based artists. It is supposed to be a connected, influential LOCAL club. So logic would dictate that the acts would be either current up-and-comers or established acts paying homage to where they came up.

Either way, even though the music isn’t my cup-o-tea, I like that aspect of the show.
I personally liked Gary Clark Jr. And Stephen Marley's songs the most out of the performances in season two.

Nah. Shades is a strong person. Juice was a sniveling coward.

Not seeing any similarities to Shades and Juice.
season 1 is forgotten in my mind, but watching this past season; he was essentially mariah's bitch. comanche kept asking or wondering what his masterplan was, but he didn't have one or if he did, i must have missed it. he was a bitch for others in power and ended up a snitch as well. that was my takeaway.

He wasn’t using her because he saw she was strong willed. When she pushed him, he pushed right back. Comanche wanted to know his master plan because he was a narc.

I liked the big fat kid with the guitar. He was amazing. Apparently he is something like 18 and a new prodigy in NY blues/rock.

He seemed like a great guitar player. I guess I wasn't completely blown away because he was covering BB King and Albert King.

but he also knew she was horribly wrong in what she was trying to do, which he warned her against and completely back fired on her, but he still did nothing. i just saw him as weak personally.

Fair, but his weakness came from a good spot (love), she was ultimately strong. Juice was easily manipulated and put himself in situations because his fear and cowardice.

Totally different motivations for the characters. I really don’t see much similar between the two outside of the fact that Rossi played both.

watching the season finale today.

the 2nd half has been far better and more interesting than the first.

let's hope they don't screw this one up.

I will say the twist on shades doesn't really make much sense, but there's still an episode left to explain it.

I don't know if Luke Cage ever did this ending in the comics, but I know it was part of an early 2000s Daredevil storyline.

Very famous work by Brian Michael Bendis.

One thing that’s really annoying is using comic characters like Piranha and Cockroach in name only

So pointless

I really liked season 2, loved the way it ended.

I thought Alfre Woodard was great, she was over the top at times but I think they had her do that because a lot of the characters were understated. She is not usually like that in other things. I thought she was fun.

It gets better, but if you were...luke warm about season 1 (sorry, had to), then don’t bother.

Season one is garbage compared to season 2.

I liked both but I liked season 1 better. I am in a serious minority on that it appears.

They barely developed Cottonmouth before they killed him off. Some old broad kills him with a champagne bottle and a mic stand? The same guy who beats gangsters to death with his bare fists? Then they bring in another villain for like 4 episodes who is cartoonishly bad?

I recently rewatched it because I forgot about a lot of the context they were alluding to in season 2. Bushmaster is definitely better than both Cottonmouth and Diamondback as a villain and it's nice that Luke is more of an annoyance between him and Mariah.

You do have a point about his brother in the first season. Cottonmouth buying it didn't bother me, he didn't see his cousin as a physical threat. I guess I always like first seasons and watching the main characters develop.

Did you catch the Defenders?

I loved Cottonmouth.

I think the first half of S1 of LC is almost DD1 or Punisher good.

The 2nd half is probably worst set of episodes in the Netflix universe.

S2 starts out painfully slow. But the 2nd half is quite good.
