I hope you are right about his salary, I hope he does not have that Euro attitude and go to the highest bidder mindset.

He did hold out 11 years ago in 2003, when his ELC expired when he was with the Wild. He wanted about $5 million a season but had to settle for 3 years/$8.8 million. He would go on to earn that money scoring 40+ goals multiple times and got 3 years/$19 million on the next deal. The biggest payday was this contract, with the Rangers for 5 years/$37.5 million.

He's earned some big bucks over his career and has won nothing team-wise, and at his age I think he understands that time is running out on winning a Cup. Personally I feel he will take that range I mentioned.

The beauty of this is his cap hit in LA is only $750,000, less than some of the pluggers are making.
