Can't listen to the game while mixing the band.
Ok I have a few times, I have Sirius, but they get mad when I miss something while they are practicing. Since I get paid and I am usually done by 7:15, it is ok. However my wife has to stay until 9 so on Thursdays I listen on the radio.

I think he has played very well for LA.

Call me an optimist, but I have a gut feeling this move is going to work out for LA. The price tag and all the goodies involved - draft picks, CBJ picking up salary, walk away free agent at the end of the season if he busts - is all gravy.

Not even close actually, I wouldn't pay him more than Williams ($3.65 million) or at the most $4 million.

Keep in mind his injury history, not to mention he is not the top dog here, he is a complementary player. A good player, but a complementary player. He isn't counted on to carry the load like he was in Minnesota and to a certain degree in NY, LA is more of a complete team than both those.

There is depth all the way around and in LA he is not a $5-6 million player. Neither is Brown, but he has a long standing history here, is entrenched in the community and was the first captain to lead this team to a Cup. Gaborik has none of that here.

At his age, the above aforementioned plus the opportunity to play with an annual contender for at least the next 2-3 years, the max I would go is 2 years/$8-8.5 million. This has been his most realistic shot at a Cup with any team he has been with so far, and if he wants to keep that he will need to take less money.

He certainly has fit in well, and it's understandable seeing him gel with this team why Dumbo had been chasing him for so many years.
