I've been told here Sirianni is a good coach.

well...he's better being ahead encouraging fans to get up after a big play.

That's the penalty for success; your coordinators and assistant coaches get sniped. They'll come for anyone on a successful coaching tree.
Niners on their 3rd DC in 3 years for this reason

I think they’ve lived on reputation this year. If they were the dominant unit they were last year, running the ball at a big clip would cure a ton of deficiencies they have.

Number 1 seed ship has sailed. Niners can lose 2 of their last 3 and still claim the one seed.
Uh, not if Eagles win out they can't
In the win/loss column this is true. However, they haven’t played a complete game all year. I think the warts that have been there all season have just finally gotten exposed.

I honestly don’t think it matters either way. They’re just not it this year. The story of the 2023 Eagles season is “malpractice”. In sports, if you stay stationary you’re losing ground because everybody else is getting better. Eagles thought they could piece meal together defensive personnel. They thought they could turn the coordinator positions over to anyone and just keep clicking. They thought they could roll the ball out and they’d be a 30pt PPG offense just based on talent alone and didn’t need any creativity in design or game planning.

This team has been severely mismanaged and in my opinion have pissed away an opportunity.
It always feels rough after a losing streak. Niners fans felt the same way when they were 5-3

The difference is that the 49ers won in dominating fashion, lost 3 in a row then won more in dominating fashion so you feel like the 3 losses in row were flukes.

The Eagles won a bunch mostly by the skin of their teeth, then got their shit rocked twice in a row and then lost to Drew lock.

Niners have the tie breaker.

But the Niners can point to numerous times they’ve played complete football games. The Eagles haven’t looked good or played to an elite standard for even 3/4 of a full contest this year. Entirely different circumstances. The next time the Eagles play a complete game this season it will be their first.

Eagles are one game back. If the Niners lose 2 and the Eagles lose none Eagles win. Go back and look.

Was honestly surprised that they didn’t target Bradbury until late. Bradbury has struggled this year. The play calling change meant more man coverage and that’s Bradbury kryptonite even when he was playing at a high level.

I mean... he was sick. Probably best if he wasn't hugging a bunch of opposing players and coughing on them at the end of the game.
Come on, that's a horseshit excuse.

He was playing the odds and he lost. Counting on the refs to bail them out
I was going to say that is in no way whatsoever playing the odds...then I got your point. Nicely played :thumb:

Niners on their 3rd DC in 3 years for this reason

In McVay's 7 years, he's had 5 different OCs (including 2 seasons where he was the active OC). LaFleur is in Green Bay, O'Connell is in Minny, Coen returned to Kentucky after last year. They currently have LaFleur's little brother at OC. Staley was the Rams DC before being hired by the Bengals.

Mmmm, cookies. Today is holiday grazing day at work, with people bringing in a dish to share. I'm going to need a nap shortly...

As we've seen, some of those hirings haven't worked out (as is to be expected). I have been waiting for someone to sign away Raheem Morris so that the Rams can change up the defensive scheme a bit. I hate seeing the corners play so far off the receivers at the LOS.

I avoid all desserts at work. It's just a slippery slope and once I start I can't stop
