After watching the last installment of 24, I thought that if they were going to do any other storyline that didn't include Jack Bauer, it would have been one that included Kate Morgan (Yvonne Strahovski's character) and some of her associates. That's something that would have made better sense, as opposed to introducing all-new leads that on the surface seem to have no connection (none that we're aware of) to the original series. Anything is possible, I suppose.

She was good wasn't she? And I liked the character well enough.

They sure did... even the could have been 2nd half was there for her in S9.

As for the no Jack... I believe that call was Kiefer's.

Yeah, Sutherland declared that he was done with the character, basically forcing their hands.

As for the actor they chose to replace him, one just knew it was going to be a black guy or a woman.

I know virtually nothing about him, but hopefully the producers truly feel he was the best for the role, not having PC influence the decision too much. The show will sink or swim with that lead role, as the script will probably be good, with the same people involved there.

talking about bringing shows back from the dead, couldn't believe i saw a prison break promo...

first 2 seasons of prison break was better than any 24 season... both were amazing at their peak...

Yep. I just get the feeling the main guy is going to get sidetracked with trying to protect too many things. I'm trying to figure out who the school girls brother may be.

The wierd thing is I'm watching this and thinking about Designated Survivor. I'm overlapping the two, especially the politic part in 24. Nothing beats Jack though.
