I am thinking best available RT at pick 51

Best available TE at pick 89

The Fins also have picks 197 and 238.

The Fins are in win now mode therefore not trading back is probably the best option.

There are some good OT / G prospects that will be available.
Having that versatility could help your O-line

You still need a middle linebacker. You might get a really good one at 89?

I am thinking the Fins need depth at the tackle positions. When injuries happened last year it didn't go well.

The Fins added Long Jr. He is a very good inside LB. I think Tindall could become solid depth at that position.

Fins surprised me with a CB pick but it's proactive to be developing Smith. Also, quality depth is a good thing.

I am excited about the RB Achane pick. He has breakaway speed. McDaniel will use his talent well. He doesn't have to be a workhorse RB with the guys that they already have on the roster.

I am thinking that a veteran OT will be added. They have already been in talks with a few of them.

RE TE the Fins didn't use Gesicki much. They really value blocking from that position. They have some TEs who can block and make timely catches. I think the Fins will get plenty if production from WRs and pass catching RBs.

I like this draft only if we get a FA OL and Liam or Austin magically becomes average. I still want Cook.

Austin was asked to play at guard as a rookie (before McDaniel) He is better suited for OT. He is learning RT but dealt with injury issues last year. He played more LT in college. I think he could become a versatile backup OT if he doesn't prove himself as a starting RT.

I would be surprised if they don't sign a quality veteran OT this offseason with the lack of depth and injuries we saw last year. I was at the Dolphins game vs the Texans last year when Armstead went out of the game. It wasn't good. The QBs instantly started taking hits. Some of the crowd wanted Tua back in with a big lead in the game. I was glad the coach sat Tua.

RE Liam: I think it's a big year for him to solidify himself at LG. He's still a young player. He will have competition in camp but I think that he has a good chance to win the spot.

RE Cook: He has a hefty contract that the Fins don't have to worry about now. I know he's a top 5 RB, however, his breakaway speed is his greatest strength. Achane definitely has that. The other RBs aren't bad. They run hard and can get first downs in short-yardage situations. I would rather the Fins spend some of the FA money on a quality OT.

With all the injuries at CB last year, CB was a good pick.
Achane looks like Dion Lewis II
Veteran OT's were hard to find .
Gesecki can't block and does not fit your system. Might be a good fit for the Pats?
Belichick likes TE's that can catch and at least get in the way when blocking.
Not sure Gesicki is a willing blocker.....

I agree with much of what you said. RE Gesicki: He's a willing blocker. It just makes it predictable. He's basically a big WR. He won't be moving anyone in the run game. He's tough with taking big hits and has good hands though.

I think Achane could be the Fins version of Kevin Faulk. He was mostly a 3rd down RB. He was a big part of championships for the Pats. Within two years he became an adequate blocker when protecting QBs even though he wasn't big. He did put on muscle between his first and second year.

Elijah Higgins: The Tanner Conner of 2023, except we burned a draft pick on him.

Elijah Higgins - TE

Stanford's best receiver.
Basically, you traded Gesicki to Patriots and drafted the same player - saving $9 million/year.

Exactly. He will be used some in two TE sets.

I would’ve loved Jarrett Patterson G/C or LG/LT Nick Broeker at that spot. Maybe solid depth at worst.

Cook will be 28 this August, He is approaching the end of RB shelf life. I would not go after him.
