The issue with these rankings I have found, is that every team was constructed differently. There were teams like mine that concentrated on their lines (my first 7 picks were O or D linemen) with the hopes of dominating the line and let the skill positions fall where they may, others went the opposite route. Some made a 3-4 other 4-3. Then there's the run heavy offenses against the pass heavy offenses. These rankings favor one style of team over another - 1 top tier WR gets you as many points as 2 top tier RBs. Having a top tier DBfield is more important (60 points for 4 starters) than a dominate Dline (40 points for 4 starters). In the end, I couldn't think of any way to do this that wouldn't have had the same effect one way or the other (hell the original idea I suggested favored the lines).

This :10:

Also, are we doing the stats thing, or a small write up, or just talking in the thread...? Will we have time to adjust for matchups...? When does this thing kick off...?

I dislike the scoring system. Sorry if this offends WLK but I liked UK's team better then his but my scoring had WLK ahead of UK. I guess no way is perfect to decide ties but I'm still not sold on this idea. However I will do what ever is in the best interest of the Mock Drafts.

Well the reason that is because one on those RBs is a backup

Luckily we still hold playoffs so the computers/ math nerds don't always win. If we had this point system before we drafted I bet most of us would have drafted differently. I would have waited on taking 1 of the greatest TE ever and focused more on my secondary.

After we are done so it doesn't influence anyone. Can you PM or text me where I was ranked?

I looked back at some teams and tried to figure out how they were lower than other teams, I guess the distribution needs to be sorted out. The system as a whole is better IMO

All I know....he held out for two games, the Cowboys were 0-2. He came back, Super Bowl Champs

Last thing on Emmitt... John Madden left the booth one time in his career to congratulate an opponent after a game.....after Emmitt played the 2nd Half and overtime against the Giants with a broken collarbone in the season finale. Lose that game, miss the playoffs. They won it and went on to win the Super Bowl. Says it all

LOL, it's not like they filled his spot that two games with a good running back. I would wager nobody who's not me or a Cowboys fan even remembers the name of the people who replaced him.

If the Cowboys would have been better prepared to play without their RB they could have told Emmitt to shove it!

That game vs the Giants was pretty amazing, that is the only reason I like Emmitt is because he was tough, I still struggle to put him in the top 10 of all time however...

PLEASE NOTICE THIS IS THE SCORING WE ARE USING...

Starting QB = 20 Backup = 5
Starting RB = 10 Backup = 5
Starting WR = 15 3rd Receiver = 10
Starting TE = 10
Starting O-Line = 10 Each
OFFENSE TOTAL = 140

Starting D-Line = 10 Each
Starting LB's = 10 Each
Starting CB's = 15 Nickel = 10
Starting SS/FS = 15 Each
DEFENSE TOTAL = 140

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Maybe my math is off but how you get 140pts I count 130.

Running a 3-4 defense
3 lineman = 30pts
4 LB = 40pts
2 CB = 30pts
2 FS/SS = 30pts

11 players = 130pts

Where did I go wrong?
Missing the third CB but don't see PTS for that.
