Let me clarify... You can argue Peterson Faulk and LT... They are all explosive and bring what they bring... I'd pick Faulk because of all his versatility, but Petersons strength and speed are crazy so I get that... But a guy who I can't remember ever missing back2back games with his usage is crazy... His oline while underrated, doesn't produce the leading rusher in NFL history... Emmitt was a beast and I don't even like him...

No one is a bigger Emmitt Smith fan than me. Emmitt was all heart and Team, could have averaged 5.5 a carry if he hadn't ran it every single time there was a 3rd or 4th and one against a 9 man box.....but.....Adrian Peterson, Barry Sanders, Eric Dickerson.... any of those guys would have shattered records with that OL. Now, would they have ran for the tough yards Emmitt did? AD, obviously, maybe ED, but Sanders? No. Sanders was the most talented, Emmitt the most unselfish. But if I were picking a team and all things were even, I think AD is better than Emmitt

Running backs could have been more than 10? Thought that was only QBs. Oh well I graded running backs with 10 the highest so it was the same for everyone anyways

I graded them as 10's, was a hypothetical

3 teams down, 5 to go.

Not many 10's. I think matchups will be totally different, rankings wont mean much

See that's the problem. I gave every lock HOF player a 10. We really needed to differentiate what a 10, 9, 8 was .etc

Good god man! What's with all the hate on Emmitt...? :noidea:

He hit holes. Good for him.

Not the best, but no back in this mock is the best. None are even in the convo, IMO. (Same goes at WR. I don't even know what those guys were trying to sell a couple days ago.)

He prolly paraded around with his helmet off and drug his career out till his beard was weird and his grey hair put him in a rockin' chair, because he was unselfish........... Suuuuuuuuuuure. Hahaha.

Id put AP below Emmitt though.

Unselfish because when it was 1st and Goal from the 2, Emmitt would take the rock 4 times in a row against a goal line front to win the game. Those 1-2 yard runs don't help your average, but he did get 3 Rings in the deal. Maybe Barry could have to, if he hadn't been hiding on the bench lol. Barry was awesome to watch, but every negative 4-5 yard run he made was basically like taking a sack. He would bust off the highlight real run, but here's the thing about Barry.....he'd have more negative runs in a season than Emmitt would have in 3. Fun to watch, but there's a reason his team's never won IMO

Id think those negative runs would hurt a YPC more than short gains. But that's just me. And math.

Barry isn't in this Mock anyway.

True that, I was using him as an example of why Emmitt was a team first player. Not saying Barry wasn't awesome. In fact, if he had been on the 90's Cowboys, I think 2500 would have been in play. You don't have to dance when there's a gaping hole

Only 2 teams left for me. Everyone is within 5 points so this should be interesting when we do the matchups.

Those Cowboys teams were damn good on both sides of the ball.

I had Kevin Smith on my list for '92. Was a little surprised nobody took him.

Man, if Kevin hadn't torn his Achilles.... lining Kev up across from Deion, it was baby lockdown

And Woodson had both their backs.

Weren't both Prime and Kevin Smith All Pro in Deion's first full season with the Boys?

(Don't think Ive seen one AllPro corner for the Lions. Never mind two the same year.)

I'll never forget the night Smith got hurt. That team was the best I've ever seen, I think they could have lined up and beat anyone. If Kevin hadn't gotten injured, wow:bawling:

They won the Super Bowl without him that year, right?

It took some time but it really makes you look at the team as a whole instead of just certain players/positions. My rankings were pretty close.

Good luck to everyone in the matchups! :suds:

They were still great, Larry Brown was Super Bowl MVP(because it was thrown right to him lol), but with Smith, their D was as dominating as their O

It was a crazystacked team for sure.

It's a good thing Emmitt was so unselfish and took those goal line carries. Hahahaha
