I don't think we're drafting QB unless it's a 5th to 7th round pick. It just doesn't make much sense anymore with Kaep and Gabbert still on the team. If we draft someone it means we'll be carrying 3 QB's this year. We should just use our picks to fill all of the other needs and see how it plays out with Kaep and Gabb under Kelly this year.

I mean Kelly did make Nick Foles look like one of the best QB's in football for a season. Where is Foles now? riding the bench on his way out of the league.
Yup and he helped Bradford make 18 mill or what ever it was. Kelly knows how to improve QBs.

Since they've been a part of the 49ers program they haven't been starter material and that has been obvious.

This I am not so sure about. Look how long it took the coaches to finally switch up last year with the biblically awful Pears and Dewey. I'm not saying someone like Thomas is a jewel in hiding, but as I said with Trent Brown (who did show signs last year of being something)....give the guy a chance...especially when the season was no longer salvageable.

That Tiller kid off the PS was an instant upgrade...and even played pretty well. People seem to forget about him as a viable option to compete for a starting position.

Today, they have to look at QB's first, not force one, but look at them first.

If no QB provides good value today, then look at Edge rishers next. If one gives us good value, draft him. Kamalei Correa, Carl Nassib, or Joe Schobert?

Yup....him and Brown were another reason why I was (and still am) hesitant in bringing back Anthony Davis...and Davis' latest antics make me reject him even more. Who knows? If their play last year was legit, and bringing in the Stanford kid along with a healthy Kilgore and Staley....the line may be a position of strength.

Of course....I'll wait to see it all in action...

Yep...my thoughts exactly (knock on wood). I'm interested to see what Garnett brings to the table. I can't remember where I posted it (probably this thread), but I was an advocate for him in the later rounds (2/3). He was an absolute road grater with a bad attitude in college...the level of competition in the NFL is much higher. I think we'll be happy with that pick a little bit down the road.

I was okay with bringing AD back at first. But this guy has been a clown the past few months. Ripping Staley's play from his couch was really bad. Staley addressed it with class. I wouldn't mind just letting him rot.

It's unfortunate, and I'm not sure where he thinks he's in any position to say anything. Staley could have been (and probably was) playing with injuries for a lot of last year while Davis had his nuts glued to the couch every Sunday. He is a promising young lineman, but he needs to shut his big dumb mouth...in a major way. He couldn't hold Staleys jock.

Maybe he has small hands!! But seriously, he just needs to keep his mouth shut. I don't think he's coming back, just my opinion.

Yea I have that same feeling...but we also hold his rights for the next 3 years (?) so he can pound sand and go cry like a little bitch on twitter instead of DOING HIS JOB. I think he really loves some him...but he should just love the fact that he made it to the NFL and has the opportunity to play. There are a lot of football players that would kill for that. If I'm a GM...I'd have a "no twitter" policy while on the team.

That's the opinions I've read on the guy...he's not as polished in pass pro, but he's the best run oriented guard in the draft with a mean streak. Hopefully it pans out.

I was always hesitant about him....he up and 'quits' on his teammates, and then calls em out on twitter? It almost doesn't matter if it's true....it looks like garbage, and coming from a 'quitter?' F that. I want no part of him either, because no matter how many fences he mends, there will always be guys who won't have his back.

I do want to point out that ESPN did a good job not showing the players being picked early before they are announced. Last year was so bad. This year I think they I saw only 3 early picks.

Credit to ESPN for improving from last year.

Well hearing that Garnett was Seattle Guy. They traded back because they thought he would 100% fall to them. 49ers blindsided them.

We get the best Guard and we steal a player Seattle wanted. WIN WIN

So do I. Niners gave up a lot for him. Need to work on pass protection, but he should improve the run game.

This might be the only time the Niners win against the Seahawks!!:suds:

U never know. Seattle has the worst Oline in Football after losing their best 2 players at the Oline this year and they already were weak. I think Seattle struggles this year.
