I'm not sure what new stuff Mario & Scott have taught Adrian but it looks like Adrian is playing stiff, he's not flowing, almost like the speed of the game has him perplexed & tight.

That was a worse collapse than the 2010 Big 12 championship game

I got to watch the second half. Lucky me. My wife took the son shopping for furniture and I was allowed to watch the game.

Either Dedrick Mills sucks or the Oline sucks or both. Can't run between the tackles.

When Adrian was back to pass the Oline took the easy blocks in the middle completely ignoring the end rushes.

Oline was not good.

Play calling was bad for the offense in the second, must have been great in the first half. Hey, we can ut Adiran out there to scramble and run or let's do a Dedrick Mills up the middle run again. For no gain. Again. Hey, it is bound to work eventually.

Troy Walters now has a target on him in my opinion. As does Greg Austin.

There were a lot of things that weren't working that they kept going back to. They did finally break Washington around the corner in the 4th Quarter on a swing pass, but it didn't produce much of anything a bevy of other times before that. 1 or two yards here, 0, -1, or - 2 yd losses there. There was no downfield passing threat so CU's defense was playing up tight. When Mo got past 10 yds there was only one DB there to beat and even he was way out of position. I kept thinking Frost/Walters were doing the short dink and dunk shit to eventually go over the top and catch them out of position like on the Spielman blown coverage in the 1st Q. They never did. CU's D-line stuffed between the tackles and their LB's/DB's played the edges.

Funny thing is I can remember Osborne being criticized for similar stuff in the 80's (not straying from what wasn't working).
I'm putting faith in (Frost, Walters, Austin, Verduzco) in that they can get things going eventually. Not only because they got it done at UCF, but I've also got nowhere else to go. LOL

I know Frost will get us back. I absolutely know it for a fact.

I know it because he cares too much about succeeding. It’s the way he’s built. The way he was brought up.

You can see it in the post game interviews. Every single loss just tears him up. That man wants to win, and he will win eventually. It’s not just an “oh shucks! well we’ll see what happens next week!” and then he goes on about his business.

Unless you’ve been signing top ten recruiting classes prior to taking over a program it’s going to take a few years minimum to build anything worth a fuck. Alvarez broke through in year 3 and won the Big 10.
This isn’t the AAC. The coaches underestimated how drastic the difference is. Walters has the deer in headlights look every time I see him interview.
I had the over/under at 8 wins, might still happen

Was UCF signing Top 10 recruiting classes?

Would UCF, Memphis, Houston, Cincinnati, S. Florida struggle with S. Alabama?

I'd think at the least UCF would beat Colorado fairly handily.
Memphis, Houston, and Cincy would give them a good game.

Pickering has a hip flexor strain.

I don't know about who would beat who but Frost inherited a UCF team loaded with Florida talent which was much better than anything old Smiley brought in.

Frost was also quickly able to get some incredible talent in the Florida area to transfer to UCF and make an immediate impact.

Dude. Don't try to bullshit me. You know I have inter-webs right?

247 disagrees with you. Therefore I'll be disagreeing with you.

Riley: 2017 (23rd), 2016 (26th) 2015: (30th) = Average of 26th

O'Leary: 2015 (71st), 2014 (68th), 2013 (79th) = Average of 72nd

That is a 176% increase in recruiting rankings.

Severe and Benning talked about this today, and it’s something I mentioned last week.....we really miss Stanley Morgan. We weren’t able to fill his shoes and right now the only guys we have catching passes are JD and Wandale, who really are more of athelte/hybrid receiver than a true WR.

You mean the un-drafted, picked up on free agency by Zac Taylor and the Bengals, then cut, Stanley Morgan?
Severe and Benning are rationalizing and/or misleading to make excuses.
Nebraska could have Jerry Rice on the field that will never catch a pass if you don't throw to him.

These dudes are all smiling at you.

Jamie Nance, Nebraska, Wide Receiver
Jaevon McQuitty, Nebraska, Wide Receiver
Demariyon Houston, Nebraska, Wide Receiver
Jaron Woodyard, Nebraska, Wide Receiver
Kanawai Noa, Nebraska, Wide Receiver
Darien Chase, Nebraska, Wide Receiver
Andre Hunt, Nebraska, Wide Receiver
Mike Williams, Nebraska, Wide Receiver
Miles Jones, Nebraska, Wide Receiver
That is not including the 5 or so walk-on WR's.

I couldn’t give 2 shits what Stanley did or does after Nebraska, Martinez was in a better situation last year with him on the field. It is very easy to see that.

Were you at either game to be able to see the entire field? TV is misleading because you can only see what's going on in the first 10 yds or so from the LOS.

Since you're such an expert, can you tell me how many times Adrian threw a pass downfield further than 15 yds?

The long ball TD in the 1st Q to JD was busted coverage. Colorado was playing so tight you're bound to have that happen quite frequently.

I obviously cannot see on TV what's going on 10 yds or so beyond the LOS either. However, what I can do is count the number of defenders in that 10 or so yds. I was counting 9 or 10 regularly. Damn near every play. I kept telling myself "Nebraska's about to go over the top, Nebraska's about to go over the top", but it never happened. Why?

The big difference in what happened on that busted coverage/long ball to Spielman is that Adrian had ALL DAY to finally notice it. He had at least 4-5 seconds in the pocket.

There was another WR wide open 20 yds downfield (on the buffalo emblem). Not sure who it is, but it's a single digit number so either Nance, McQuitty, Houston, or Woodyard.

There were 10 Colorado defenders within 10 yds of the LOS. 9 defenders within 5 yds of the LOS.

Y'all put way too much stock into Morgan who was simply a serviceable 3* WR.

He broke records because he was in a passing offense.

Nebraska was a rushing offense from 1962-2014 (other than the HWSNBN years). There were no opportunities for 1,000 yd receivers.

Morgan was not even a 1,000 yd rcvr.

986 per the books.

To give you an example, Notre Dame has 10 1,000 yd receivers.

That is the first team I looked at. No need to look any further. I've made my point. Bowl games were not counted in single season stats for most of those.

I think we can agree as far as baseline talent pool I would guess FL to be quite a bit higher than NE, ratings aside.

Another consideration is UCF is running year 4 of Frosts system and recruits minus graduates and injuries. We're only on one full season plus 2 games. I like to assume 2 years from now we're not still struggling with G5 and FCS schools
