This is true, but if Gruden comes back I see Alex and Colt coming back with a 5th round QB on the roster. If a new guy is here, I think Colt is gone and we might see a QB in the 1st or 2nd. New coach, new franchise QB.........Dan and Bruce would feel that would generate enough curiosity to get the fans to come back to FedEx.

ONe or both will be trying to come back from a broken leg. The best feature in both their games are a bit of mobility.

We drafting a QB... early in the draft. And as shitty as it is, I wont even rule out a trade up to get said QB

There is some good value at other positions in the first. I would hate to blow that on a QB in a bad QB class. MLB is a problem and there are some good ones that can cover. Greedy Williams might be available if the Skins falter down the stretch.

You heard it here first, if Gruden is canned do not rule out RG3. I know, but this is the Redskins we are talking about.

Moving up to get a QB is going to be a hard sell for a lot of posters here, unfortunately, I believe that neither Smith nor Colt will make successful comebacks. Certainly Smith will attempt it, mainly on the strength of his desire to fulfill his contract requirements. Colt I believe retires and that leaves this team without a QB capable of playing in the 2019 season. Maybe we finally go with an idea that I've floated out in the last few years, subjectively, signing a veteran guy to hold things down in 2019 while the youngster sits and is prepared.

Fitz? Side note, why isn't Bradford on the Skins radar for the stretch run? Is he still hurt. He gives us a much better chance than Sanchez imo. Nevermind. Just researched and Sam's knee is bone on bone. Probably done.

Yeah he's done, and that is the reason why he wasn't signed over Sanchez.

Injuries have been unkind to you guys. I know opposing fans often poo poo injury excuses, but to have the QB injuries you all have is a daunting task to attempt to overcome.

Smith may try to come back but I would be shocked if he is physically ready at the start of the season. Colt might be iffy but he would be iffy if he is still here. IMO it is likely that Sanchez is the starting QB next year and I have no idea whether they look in the draft or not. Seems like their hand is being forced now.

Did you see RG3 play the other day for the Ravens? He is a shell of himself. He is not playing for the Skins - or possibly any team - next season.

If Sanchez plays like Sanchez and they move on from him, the Skins will go into OTAs without a QB, as Smith and Colt will still be recovering. They are gonna have to sign a stopgap or draft one. Still hard to say until Gruden's fate it determined.

Note taken on Griffin III.

Skins coughed up a #4 pick for him.
I can see the mistake in a 4th round pick but he is better than Nicholson at the moment but you are right, not worth signing back. I was shocked at the overall low football IQ the skins have on defense. It was very evident last night.

The Skins also need a new HC.

Horrible situation for you guys.

Imho I’d fund a busted first round pick like Paxton lynch, bring em
In and let him play some, this season. They can’t be worse than Sanchez and maybe u get lucky in a guy with a pedigree

low risk, not a mistake. He will not be resigned so, where is the mistake?
We gave up a 4th round pick for him as a short term rental on a team going nowhere this year. that is a mistake.

Washington must spend a first- or second-rounder next spring because both of its quarterbacks are hurt. Neither Alex Smith nor Colt McCoy will be ready until training camp at best, and Smith's days as the starter are probably done. That means it's time to work on the next passer, as expensive as that may be. There is no other choice.

But, Washington probably won't draft until at least 15th, even if finishing 6-10. That means forget Missouri's Drew Lock or Oregon's Justin Herbert. The Redskins have to find the next Lamar Jackson, because there are too many teams vying for the top ones.

Meanwhile, Washington now soldiers on with Mark Sanchez, who performed respectably in the Monday loss to Philadelphia, given he only knew a dozen or so plays. Who knows, by Sunday he might know two dozen. Then again, the Redskins offense is basically dump-off passes, so it's not that challenging to learn.

Washington is once again at Ground Zero when it comes to a passer. McCoy can't be trusted to provide a gap year after getting hurt yet again. Great guy and knows the offense, but once again is hurt. Smith was having a poor year before the injury, and who knows if and when he'll return. At best, Smith comes back for a gap year.

No, the Redskins are in a tear-down situation despite a 6-6 mark. So many needs, but passer has to be the draft's top priority because you'll rarely find a good one in free agency. Ask Minnesota how it feels about Kirk Cousins, or Denver fans with Case Keenum. And those are the good ones.

The Redskins need to sell hope to their fan base after yet another second-half collapse and nothing is shinier than a new quarterback.

So, get out your draft books, start watching tape and debate who it will be. It's going to be a long five months.
