Rays trade for Cardinals OF Tommy Pham. Could open up an opportunity for Tyler O'Neil to play everyday

I am no baseball guru but maybe instead of over paying for a decent starting pitcher maybe the approach is with all these relievers is whenever Paxton, Marco, or Leake arent pitching try having average pitchers like Elias or even Erasmo who can be coming back soon try and pitch a solid 5 innings then use these relievers to finish the rest of the way.

I really doubt any starting pitchers are available at a good price if there was that player would have been traded already

I believe that is the idea... Plus, it will keep the starting arms a bit more fresh knowing you have solid support in the bullpen... For example, instead of Paxton throwing 8, they shut him down after 7 innings...

Just saw that. This is a ton of relievers. Jerry's got to have some gears turning here. Maybe we're stockpiling a few guys to swap later today? No way all these guys are on the team.

Possibly... If that is the case, very creative thinking by Dip...

Not flashy but necessary. Let Heredia go to AAA for a month to see if he can hit

I dig this... Maybin would be an upgrade...

1:25pm: The Mariners are expected to land Maybin, Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times tweets. A prospect and international pool money are heading to Miami in the deal, Jon Heyman of Fancred tweets.

This is a solid deal. I'd prefer another starter but since the beginning of the year Jerry has added a LF, CF, a set up guy and a few bullpen arms.

One curious thing I'm wondering though is if some of the arms already in the pen can get packaged with Healy and maybe some minor prospect to get Archer.
