Personally I could care less about painting Cable in any manner. It is what it is. I still see what ML did when they addressed the line. Not taking a handful of 5-7 rounders. I saw what happened when they didn't address the Oline and how ML's production began to decline.

The current Seahawks offensive line last year consisted of of 2 2nd rounders, a 1st rounder, a FA former 1st rounder and a 2nd UDFA that the team was very excited about.

Oh, and LOL, that you couldn't care less about painting Cable in any manner. You can't possibly be that self-unaware.

Cable everywhere else was touted a quality Oline coach and OC. Yet Seattle fans want to make him out to be the worst coach ever.

Guess we'll see what happens now?

It's always helpful to use hyperbole to make your arguments. Seahawk fans don't think he was the worst coach ever. But there is a reason that he was fired. Over the last 4 years he has failed to produce even a marginally competent offensive line. In first 3 years he was at least was able to get them to run block.

We will see what happens next. Maybe you're right and JS/PC are completely incompetent and Tom Cable was the fall guy for their mistakes.

What I don't get is why everyone seems to think the 49ers are going to be good

Do you know who their young QB is? Do you know who the head coach is?

I dunno, in my ideal world Fant comes back 100% healthy and starts at RT. That leaves Ifedi free to slide inside and play guard, where his disposition and physicality really shines. If that happens, Fluker only comes in if there's injuries, or to spell someone.
I don't discount that as a possibility. Just seems that the talk after signing Fluker indicated the intent is to have him start at RG. Ifedi better get his act together or he won't be long for this team....not a very good rookie year at RG, maybe an even worse one at RT when he led the league in penalties, and the new OC/OL coach have no reputational ties to him.

Johnson back healthy and you got Fitz the team shouldn't be awful. I think they tie or finish ahead of Seattle this season.

Next year Seattle will be in the same boat as AZ with cap space.

Um...I think Seattle also has a lot of cap space, so not really in the same boat as this year.

It will be a nice relaxing year. I know the Cards will be crap, but next year things will start to turn. A ton of cap space, second year under the new staff and a year under the belt for Rosen.

A lot of Seahawks fans on these boards are really delusional. It's kind of comical.

Can I get a guarantee the Cards will be better next year?

Nope. They won't be.

You weren't here for Scoobs SB Guarantee that fell a tad short a few years back. Just a little ribbing on him but I do think if they finally found a solid QB the Cards will be on the rise.

Maybe they have in Josh Rosen.

I'm on a Football message board in May, of course I know who their QB is. That doesn't mean I need to buy into the premature hype after 7 games though

What part of needing 2-3 years together for a line to gel do you want to keep ignoring?

Talk about holy hyperbole Batman. "JS/PC are completely incompetent"

Paging Mr. Kettle

I know the OL needs a couple years to get on the same page and sometimes it doesn't even take that long. I wasn't ignoring that fact.

That's what I said both teams would have cap space next season. Both will be in the same boat.
Man some of you people are sensitive.

You know, I read that the wrong way and I reread that like 5 times. Might need more sleep. On the positive if the o-line fails they can go buy someone.

I think it's waaaaay too early to cut the cord with Ifedi yet. His disposition and physical tools are what are wanted. Probably just needs to have things slow down for him.

As for Fluker, I remember remarking on his signing dollars. He's set to make just over a million.

I think that speaks as to the market for HIM.

But what fun is it for NWP to take it that way, when he can jump right to 'sensitive,' like the good little button-pusher he is...
